Harry Lambert, ZARA, and Disney’s Mickey & Friends Collaborate With An Exciting New Collection
Quick, pull up a seat… it’s time to tune in! The AW GEE! WOW game show is starting soon! This is the third collaboration between Norwich-born, London-based fashion stylist Harry Lambert and ZARA. This time, the collection is inspired by Disney’s Mickey & Friends: Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, Donald Duck, and Goofy! The designs aim to bring unbridled joy to the wardrobe and, for the first time, will be available in menswear, womenswear, and childrenswear.
The idea of “matchy-matchy” is key to this collection, allowing the whole family to join in on the fun with multiple coordinating pieces. “It’s been 30 years since I first met Mickey Mouse and his friends at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida,” says Lambert. “It felt like such a pivotal moment in my childhood… Disney holds so many happy memories for me, so it’s been so exciting to work with them closely.”
Sonia Samra, EMEA Vice President of Fashion, Home & Beauty at Disney Consumer Products, says the collection “blends beloved character heritage with modern design, delivering a curated style that’s iconic, playful, and refreshingly contemporary.”
AW GEE! WOW lifts vibrant hues from Disney’s color palette, while the overarching silhouette leans towards a timeless, retro feel. The pieces are a mix of the characters’ signature styles and Lambert’s own design sensibilities. Think bold buttons, neat collars (sometimes fluffy!), and exaggerated silhouettes for both party dresses and everyday jerseys. You’ll also find well-known phrases from the characters, adding humor and authenticity to baseball caps and raglan tees. Exaggerated proportions can be spotted throughout all three lines, giving the wardrobe a characterful approach.
The Collection
Womenswear features matching sets like a fuzzy faux-fur skirt set and a knitted cardigan and trouser co-ord. Hemlines are kept high, with bold polka dots and sweet pastel satins making up the partywear. For a more relaxed feel, denim is loose and paired with slouchy tees and cozy knits. A bold black, like a cartoon’s outline, punctuates the collection, allowing other colors to pop.
Menswear has an overarching sportswear feel, with vintage-inspired activewear jackets in denim, baby pink, and racing red. Smart trousers and oversized coats in heritage tartans complete the tailoring, while metallic sneakers bring a modern twist. The knitwear features Disney characters and the collars are even made up of Disney’s iconic Mickey Mouse silhouette.
For the first time, Lambert has also designed childrenswear. Prints, patterns, and silhouettes from the adult lines are reworked in smaller sizes. The girls’ collection includes party dresses, relaxed separates, and vibrant knitwear with fuzzy fabrics. The boys’ collection takes on vintage sportswear inspirations, with baseball jackets and varsity sweaters influenced by the Disney characters.
A Family Affair
“I have this vision of mothers and daughters, and fathers and sons… getting dressed up together in the matching pieces and it being such a special moment for happy memories,” shares Lambert. To bring this vision to life, the collection is showcased in a classic TV game show format with Lambert as its host, joined by his new pals from Disney and some very special guests: his own family.
“I loved being able to share this same feeling of wonder I had as a child with my nephew,” Lambert says. “To meet Mickey Mouse and his friends in a new environment of my own making was a very special, full-circle moment that I was so happy to share with my family.”
The AW GEE! WOW: Harry Lambert for ZARA x Disney collection will be available from September 25th at Zara.com and in selected stores. An exclusive preview will be available at The Selfridges Corner Shop in London from September 22nd, while a pop-up will take place at CRANES 6142 in Shibuya, Tokyo, from September 25th until October 2nd.
Haunted Mansion’s Hidden Mickey Shroud Gets a Spooky Glow Up at Magic Kingdom
Something ghostly has returned to The Haunted Mansion at Walt Disney World — and it’s looking brighter (and eerier) than ever. The Hidden Mickey Shroud, which briefly vanished from the attraction’s graveyard scene, has materialized once again with a brand-new glowing blue appearance.
For those unfamiliar, the Hidden Mickey Shroud is the hooded ghostly figure that emerges from a crypt beside the opera-singing spirits. It’s famous among fans for the subtle Mickey-shaped silhouette formed in its raised hand — one of five hidden Mickeys tucked into the attraction.
The refreshed figure now shines with a vibrant blue glow, and for the first time, you can clearly see faint features beneath its hood: a downcast face with closed eyes and a pointed nose. The update makes the figure more distinct while keeping its eerie, spectral vibe intact.
Comparisons to its earlier version show just how much it has changed. The original was darker and more abstract, with a shadowed face punctuated only by glowing eyes, and long tatters draped from the Mickey-shaped hand. The new look trades in those rags for a brighter, ghostlier glow that makes the character stand out in the already-chaotic graveyard scene.
Whether this is a permanent enhancement or just part of ongoing effects updates, fans will be eager to spot the Hidden Mickey Shroud on their next doom buggy ride. After all, there’s always room for one more ghost — especially one that glows.
Orange County Sheriff’s Office Initiates Manslaughter Investigation After Guest Death at Epic Universe
The tragic death of 32-year-old Kevin Zavala after riding the Stardust Racers roller coaster at Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe is now being investigated under Florida’s manslaughter statute.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Monday that the case is being handled as a manslaughter investigation, which is standard protocol in any accidental or unexplained death, according to reporting by Orlando News 6. Florida Statute 782.07 defines manslaughter as the unlawful killing of a human being caused by culpable negligence. Investigators are tasked with determining whether negligence — criminal or otherwise — played a role.
A spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office clarified the process: “This is a death investigation. In cases which appear at first glance to be accidental deaths — which this case does — detectives must determine whether there is any negligence, whether criminal or non-criminal. Manslaughter is just the name of the catch-all statute covering deaths that are not natural. Through their investigation, detectives attempt to figure out IF there is any culpable negligence or a crime that occurred.”
Zavala, who had a pre-existing spinal injury and used a wheelchair, was found unresponsive after riding Stardust Racers last week and later died at the hospital. The medical examiner ruled his cause of death as multiple blunt impact injuries, with the manner of death listed as accidental.
Attorney Ben Crump has since been retained by Zavala’s family. His office is calling for the release of maintenance logs, inspection reports, ride data, and video footage, stating that “this tragic loss demands a thorough investigation and full transparency.”
Universal Orlando Resort has maintained that Stardust Racers was functioning properly, with President Karen Irwin telling employees the ride “operated as intended” and that safety remains the park’s top priority. The attraction remains closed with no announced reopening timeline.
While the investigation continues, officials emphasize that a manslaughter review is part of due diligence in such cases and does not automatically imply wrongdoing. Detectives will follow the evidence before determining whether negligence or a crime occurred.
Investigators Confirm Epic Universe Coaster Was Operating Properly in Rider’s Death
A tragic incident at Universal Orlando’s brand-new Epic Universe has sparked questions and an official investigation. Now, both Universal and state investigators have confirmed that the attraction involved was functioning properly at the time of the guest’s death.
According to a memo from Universal Orlando Resort President and COO Karen Irwin, the park’s internal review showed no malfunction occurred on the Stardust Racers rollercoaster. “Our internal findings to date confirm that the ride systems functioned as intended, equipment was intact at the ride’s start, throughout the duration of the ride and upon the ride vehicle’s return to the station, and our Team Members followed procedures,” Irwin said in an email to staff.
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, which oversees ride safety at Florida’s theme parks, released a statement agreeing with Universal’s assessment. “The department’s current findings align with those shared by Universal after monitoring the same tests and reviewing the same information,” officials said. The investigation remains ongoing.
The incident occurred when 32-year-old Kevin Rodriguez Zavala, a wheelchair user with a known spinal injury, became unresponsive during the ride. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. A medical examiner ruled the death an accident, citing multiple blunt impact injuries as the cause.
While questions about theme park ride safety always arise after such tragedies, current findings indicate this was not a case of mechanical failure. Universal Orlando has pledged continued cooperation with investigators as they work to bring full clarity to the situation.
LEGOLAND Florida and California to Unveil Technologically Advanced ‘Galacticoaster’ Attractions
A new indoor roller coaster, “Galacticoaster,” is set to open at both LEGOLAND Florida and LEGOLAND California in early 2026. Merlin Entertainments, the parent company of LEGOLAND, is investing approximately $90 million in the two space-themed attractions, which are designed to deliver thrills and excitement for families with children ages 2-12. According to the company, the new coaster is being developed in collaboration with the Lego Group and promises to be the most technologically advanced attraction at any LEGOLAND Resort to date.
At LEGOLAND Florida, the new coaster will be a part of a larger themed area called LEGOLAND Spaceport 885, named in homage to one of the original LEGO Space Scooter sets. The ride will be the first new roller coaster to open inside the main LEGOLAND Florida theme park since its debut in 2011. The queue experience is designed to be fully immersive, inviting families to engage and imagine even before takeoff. The new area will also feature the Orbital Outpost, a themed retail shop, and a Duplo Tot spot for younger explorers ages 1-4.
Blake Boyter, a senior project manager with Merlin Magic Making, said, “This is more than just a ride! It’s a fully immersive mission that starts the minute guests enter the building. From lift off to landing, the result is LEGOLAND Florida’s most ambitious attraction to date — built for explorers big and small.”
LEGOLAND California: LEGOLAND Spaceport 886
Over at LEGOLAND California, the new Galacticoaster will launch as part of a new, space-themed land. This marks the park’s first new roller coaster in over two decades. The land will feature its own spaceport, LEGOLAND Spaceport #886, a nod to an original Lego Space Buggy set. The area will also include a Junior Astronaut Training Zone for toddlers, as well as a quick-service dining location called Galactic Grub and Gear and a retail shop.
Flora Liu, a senior project manager for Merlin Magic Making, commented on the new land. “This isn’t just about a new innovative coaster; it’s about creating an entire universe for our guests to explore, where the boundless creativity of Lego meets the wonders of space,” Liu said. “We’ve designed it so that families can explore space together in a way that only Lego can make happen!”
First Look: Everything We Know About Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge
Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge will have a large and expansive pool area. The Disney Vacation Club Resort is expected to have a main feature pool as well as a leisure pool, with the main pool offering a mix of relaxation and family-friendly activities.
The resort’s most notable new feature will be a lazy river, making Lakeshore Lodge only the second Walt Disney World hotel to have one after the Yacht & Beach Club. The main pool will also have a zero-entry design for easy access, plus water slides and a splash pad for kids. The entire pool area is positioned near the lake behind the main hotel, offering beautiful waterfront views.
Disney has not yet confirmed the full details of the pool complex, but more information is expected soon as construction moves forward.
Disney officially announced Lakeshore Lodge in November 2024. The new Disney Vacation Club resort is scheduled to open in 2027 and is being built on the same site as the previously planned Reflections—A Disney Lakeside Lodge, a project that was put on hold in 2020.
Disney Lakeshore Lodge is inspired by nature and its lasting influence on Disney artists. According to the company, the resort will combine rustic elegance with imaginative storytelling, giving guests a peaceful getaway on the shores of Bay Lake, located between Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort.
The original Reflections project was announced in 2018 as a deluxe resort with over 900 hotel rooms and Disney Vacation Club villas. The project was put on hold during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the site was left untouched until recently when work began again, suggesting the project was back on.
Are you looking forward to experiencing a new Disney resort hotel?
