Disney is embracing a conversational approach with both their theme parks and cast members. In fact, they are placing an emphasis on new eco-friendly cast member outfits. You can see a few of the new Disney outfits below.
For instance, the aprons in these photos are all made from fabric created from recycled plastic water bottles. Each apron is keeping 50 bottles out of the landfill.
These designer costumes are made through a process of upcycling. It’s a novel way to take trash and transform it into something even better than it was before.
So much is happening with fabric technology, which includes lightweight performance fabric created with recycled fiber. We’ve found that sweet spot to get functional and durable, vibrant fabrics with fun designs cast and guests will love.

Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure is opening this summer on June 4! Cast members have assembled and are gearing up in some heroic costumes.
“Our cast members play a unique part in the guest experience,” said Joe Kucharski, senior costume designer. “These costumes are designed to help them embody their role in this epic story.”
Taking on unique roles, cast members in Avengers Campus are known as Campus Representatives, and the costumes they wear are inspired by each individual address within the campus. These looks were created to be cool and comfortable, while helping to ground guests in the immersive storytelling of the land.
Campus Representatives at WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure and WEB Suppliers will wear pieces that feature modern, techy emblems and materials made of lightweight, breathable fabrics with stretch for movement and flexibility.
Over at Pym Test Kitchen featuring IMPOSSIBLE, they will take on unique pieces like a Pym pocket protector, lab coat, hat and tie. Giving a nod to the growing and shrinking science used to create shareable bites and sweets at this location, these costumes feature a large “Pym Particle” on the hat and much smaller pattern on the tie.
The campus uniform includes cargo bottoms, a training shirt and a tactical-inspired vest that are comfortable, lightweight and breathable, so cast can be ready to take on any mission that comes their way.
At the Ancient Sanctum, costumes layer unique pieces that cast a dramatic silhouette with rich textures and sewing techniques inspired by the Mystic Arts.
Campus Representatives at both food carts in Avengers Campus will gear up in colorful aprons—one inspired by classic New York City food carts for Shawarma Palace and the other inspired by the second anchor attraction in the land, Guardians on the Galaxy—Mission: BREAKOUT!, for Terran Treats.
Check out this video for a closer look!
We cannot wait for Avengers Campus to finally open! What do you think about the cast member costumes?
Making it is super easy as well, all you have to do is follow this recipe from Disney Eats and then enjoy while transporting yourself to the sandy beaches of Hawaii.

1 ripe banana
1 1/2 cups of frozen pineapple chunks
1/2 cup of milk or non-dairy milk of choice
1 tsp of blue matcha
White chocolate chips
Grapeseed or coconut oil
Food coloring (blue, pink and purple)
Dark chocolate chips

Mix 1/2 cup of white chocolate chips with 1/2 tsp of oil and melt in microwave or over stovetop. Once melted, add in blue food coloring until you get the color of Stitch’s fur. Once cooled about one minute, place into a small piping bag with a round tip.
Pipe the shape of Stitch’s head, leaving two large circle empty for the outline of his eyes, and leaving spots for his ears. Place chocolate into the fridge to set.
Melt another batch of white chocolate chips to make a darker shade of blue for Stitch’s hair, mouth, nose and outline. Once cooled, transfer to a piping bag and pipe the details. Place chocolate into the fridge to set.
Melt a third batch of white chocolate chips and oil, this time adding in a mixture of pink and purple for Stitch’s ears. Once cooled, transfer to a piping bag and pipe the details. Place chocolate into the fridge to set.
Once set, place the Stitch food art on top of your smoothie bowl, add two chocolate chips as his eyes and done.

Broadway Theaters to Reopen This September at Full Capacity. Theater lovers have been eagerly awaiting news on the reopening of Broadway, especially after New York Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo shared COVID restrictions will begin being lifted in the next few weeks.
Broadway Hit Shows The Phantom of the Opera, Hamilton, The Lion King, and Wicked are expected to announce opening dates and ticket sale information for mid-September sometime next week (with many theaters slating to open September 14th). Other shows looking to raise curtains in September include Aladdin, Chicago, American Utopia, and Come From Away.
Ticket providers are expecting issues to pop up as every show will begin ticket sales within seconds, minutes, and hours of one another, but TDF Executive Director Victoria Bailey shares that everyone is eagerly awaiting the outcome of reopening, sharing how no one knows how to reopen theaters at this capacity while comparing it to the end of The Black Plague. Bailey shared: “We’ve never done this before. The last time the theater industry opened from a pandemic, Shakespeare was still writing new plays.”
Though many predictions believe it will be years before Broadway can fully recover from the loss of theaters going dark and audience hesitation to return Come From Away Producer Sue Frost shares how she is optimistic and willing to try, sharing:
“I do think there’s going to be a real push to reach out to the tri-state area, to day-trippers, and to locals, but does the pent-up demand explode and then go dormant? If we don’t put our toe in the water, we won’t know.”

Planning to visit the theme parks during your stay? Remember that all guests ages 3 and up will need both a valid ticket and theme park reservation for the same day and same park to enter the park they want to visit.*** Theme park reservations have to be made in advance, and they’re limited and subject to availability. Planning a stay at a Disneyland Resort hotel? You can use your hotel confirmation number to view the latest reservation availability for theme parks. Be sure to have a valid ticket to book your theme park reservation. Keep in mind: a hotel reservation does not guarantee theme park access, and you’ll need to link your park tickets to a Disney account to make a separate theme park reservation. If you do not have an applicable theme park reservation confirmation and a valid ticket, you will not be granted access to the theme parks. Also, only California residents may visit the parks at this time. You may be asked to show such proof of residency, as necessary. Remember that appropriate face coverings are required for all guests ages 2 and older throughout the resort.
And as always, visit Disneyland.com for the latest details and everything else you need to know before you go!
