Disney changing Show Times for Happily Ever After and Epcot Forever in August

Disney changing Show Times for Happily Ever After and Epcot Forever in August

When it comes to making Disney World plans, it’s important to know what to expect on your theme park schedule. For example, knowing when to catch the nightly fireworks show at Magic Kingdom and Epcot. The showtimes for Happily Ever After and Epcot Forever will be changing in August, so if you plan on visiting, then do be mindful of the new showtime schedule.

Related: Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks will return to the Magic Kingdom

Happily Ever After is switching from 9:15PM to an 8:45PM showtime starting on August 10th. Part of the reason for the change is because of the sun setting earlier as we approach August, but it’s also because of Mickey’s Boo Bash After Hours event. Disney wants to make sure regular theme park ticket guests can see the nighttime spectacular before the Halloween event begins.

Also, Epcot Forever will now be taking place at 9:00PM, so you’ll want to be mindful of the new time for that theme park. If you do visit the Disney World theme parks in August, then you’re sure to have a great time!

Dinner at the Reopening of Trail’s End in Disney’s Ft. Wilderness is a great value with good food

Trail's End in Disney's Ft. Wilderness

Dinner at the Reopening of Trail’s End in Disney’s Ft. Wilderness is a great value with good food. Last night, we were on hand for the Grand reopening of Trail’s End Restaurant and the new family-style meal. Clearly, there are some changes to the menu with some stands outs. Without a doubt, this family-style meal is a great value for the family.

Round up your settlement and sail across Bay Lake to a time of pioneers. Nestled on 750 wooded acres inhabited by enchanting wildlife, Trail’s End Restaurant is one dining destination you’ll want to allow plenty of time to reach. Getting there is a trailblazing adventure unto itself!

Related: Ohana Breakfast is back at Disney’s Polynesian Resort!

Dinner at Trail’s End is a rootin’ tootin’ good time. Starts with hushpuppies and skillet cornbread with a chopped garden salad for the table. The family-style Smokehouse Skillet comes with pecan-smoked brisket, rotisserie chicken. Also included are andouille sausage, fingerlings potatoes, green beans, and buttered corn on the cob. Pork spare ribs, peel n’ eat shrimp, and cornbread-crusted salmon are available as tasty add-ons to your meal.

We took the last reservation we could find, which happened to be 9:20 pm est. If you haven’t figured out our love of Happily Ever After yet, I am sure you will soon, a ton of our dinner times revolve around the fireworks. This led us to get seated way later than we expected. Closer to 10:10 pm. Obviously, Trail’s End in Disney’s Ft. Wilderness opening night was a sought-after reservation, plus the walk-ups, and it got backed up. The Cast members are always great and kept us in the loop on the time it would take to be seated.

$29.99 for Adults, and $14.99 for Kids, in Disney terms, is less expensive. There is plenty to eat, and when we left, we needed a wheelbarrow for our stomachs. The Bread plate is really good, biscuits taste like biscuits. The stand-out is the hush puppies and the cornbread and butter. Jalapeno hush puppies are my new favorite. Not overly hot, but a kick once in a few bites. Yum. Salad, well it is salad!

The Skillit is where it is at, with the brisket being the stand-out star. You could taste the smoke, and had great depth to the flavor. Furthermore, you would think that late at night it would get chewy and hard, it was perfectly cooked. Fall off the bone soft. Sausage has a good kick to it and I personally feel it would be better in a jambalaya. Corn is Corn, Beans is Beans. Now, onto the chicken. I do not like going negative, but Disney why did you get rid of the Fried Chicken? It seriously is missing. Whatever they wanna call the chicken they are serving now, I could not tell you. Not a good substitution for the Fried Chicken. Fried Chicken fans Unite! Someone start a Change.org petition!

Trail's End in Disney's Ft. Wilderness

Dessert featured the Cowboy Hat. Which you can see above. ?? Covered Wagon Sundae ?? It’s a Wagon Load of Ice Cream. Toppings, marshmallows, cookies, ?covered ?! Strawberry Ice cream and Chocolate ?! Over the top delicious. It is an Instagrammer dream dessert. Tastes amazing.

One of the things we did love was the portion sizes. If you are at a table of 2, the Skillit, Salad, and dessert all come out in small dishes. If you are a larger family, the dessert comes out in a giant Stetson Hat! We do not know if you can keep the hat though.

Overall, Trails End is a great choice. Budget conscience families will get their money’s worth. Folks looking to have a home-cooked meal will surely enjoy this meal. If you do not like to travel by bus or boat or have to make transfers, Trails End is not for you. It does take some work to get to, and we enjoyed every step of our journey together.

Canada Cruise Ban ending – Disney Alaska Cruises on the horizon

Canada Cruise Ban ending - Disney Alaska Cruises on the horizon

Earlier this year the Canadian government announced a one-year ban for cruise ships and Arctic pleasure craft. The ban was set to end February 28, 2022. Now, the Canadian Minister of Transport, the Honourable Omar Alghabra, announced that the ban will end November 1, 2021.

The ban will no longer be in effect so long as operators are able to fully comply with public health requirements. Canada is looking forward to having a cruise season in 2022. Transport Canada will continue to work with the United States government to ensure health and safety.

“As Canadians have done their part to reduce the spread of COVID-19, our government continues to work hard to safely restart our economy and build back better. We will welcome cruise ships—an important part of our tourism sector—back in Canadian waters for the 2022 season,” said Alghabra.

Disney Cruise Line had to cancel its Alaska sailings due to the Canada ban. Alaskan senators then introduced a bill that would allow cruise lines to bypass stopping at an international port. Now, that might not matter. Disney Cruise Line has yet to resume sailing and the 2021 Alaskan cruises are still cancelled. With Canada reopening its waterways, the Alaska cruise season should be able to return in 2022.

Here are more details from Disney:

Beginning today, guests of the Disneyland Resort and Disneyland Paris can don their opera glasses at the fan-favorite attraction and experience the addition of the musical number “Un Poco Loco,” from Disney and Pixar’s “Coco.” One of the original composers of “Coco” – Germaine Franco – produced a score unique to “Mickey’s PhilharMagic.”
