Construction Walls go up around Trading Post in the Magic Kingdom

If you plan on exploring Magic Kingdom’s Frontierland, then you’ll need to pardon the prairie dust! Disney has put up construction walls near the exterior of the Frontierland Trading Post.

It’s mostly for cosmetic work on the exterior of the store. It appears they will be doing some maintenance on the floor boards since the construction walls cover mostly that portion. Also, they do have signs warning of possible wet paint. Getting a fresh coat (or two) of paint will help freshen up the western aesthetic design. We expect to see a cheerful Trading Post once the project is complete in Frontierland.

In the meantime, the Magic Kingdom is quite busy preparing for Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebrations. Guests can see many refurbishments taking place, such as certain venues in Fantasyland and Main Street. But this is just another step towards Disney making the whole theme park a greater magical experience!

One of a kind 50th Anniversary displays coming to Disney World & Disney Springs

Disney World has just shared with us a first look at the 50th Anniversary Merchandise, from crocs to spirit jerseys and so much more, it is going to be such a Magical Celebration!

Also coming for Disney World’s 50th Anniversary will be one-of-a-kind retail displays that will incorporate Disney storytelling into your 50^th merchandise shopping experience.

The imaginative displays will pop up at select merchandise locations across Walt Disney World, including World of Disney at Disney Springs.

The rendering pictured above was envisioned by our very own merchandise cast members Eric Rachaphoumy and Paul Seus.

Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor is now open in the Magic Kingdom

Mike Wazowski is once again welcoming humans to the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor! After being closed since the shutdown back in 2020 the Monsters are once again delivering laughs for Magic Kingdom guests.

Step inside the only laugh factory in Monstropolis and make your way into a comedy club hosted by Monster of Ceremonies Mike Wazowski. These scare-acters love to engage the audience. Don’t be surprised if you become part of the show!

Inspired by the Disney and Pixar animated films Monsters, Inc. and Monsters University, this attraction scares up some monster laughs.

There are TWO pairs of gorgeous Minnie ears, a reimagined Mickey hat, purses from Loungefly AND Dooney and Bourke, Spirit Jerseys, and so much more! The EARidescent Collection – Late October

My favorite of the collections is the EARidescent Collection! It is the ultimate Disney Style assortment with shimmering purple, sequins, and magic! This collection includes the magic trinity too, Minnie Ears, Loungefly, and Spirit Jersey! There is also a darling iridescent castle pin too!

There will also be a Luxe Logo Collection. This is a new merchandise line that will launch in November 2021, with a sleek look.

We won’t have to wait until October to start celebrating with stylish new merchandise though! A limited-time pre-celebration merchandise collection will also be available starting August 12th at Walt Disney World Resort! That’s only a few days away!!

Registration is open for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure Disney World Annual Passholder Preview

Yesterday Disney Vacation Club Preview dates were announced for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. Those with a reservation during those dates and a valid DVC Membership were emailed letting them know they could sign up to get a sneak peek at Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.

Today Disney has just sent out emails for Disney World Annual Passholders to get a sneak peek at Remy too!

Here are the details:

Great news Passholders! You’re invited to register to experience Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure before it opens to the
general public.

Join Chef Remy and friends on a daring culinary caper as you zip, dash and scurry through Gusteau’s bustling Paris restaurant.

The attraction officially opens October 1, just in time for the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration. But as a special “thank you” for being a Passholder, this is your opportunity to get a sneak peek. Be sure to register now – space is limited!

KEEP IN MIND: You will not need to make a separate Theme Park reservation to enter EPCOT® on the day of your preview, but applicable pass blackout dates do apply. Be sure

Stormbreaker is now for sale at Super Hero Headquarters! Avenger’s Assemble! Groot would be “I am Groot” watching you enjoy roleplaying or even just collecting this awesome axe of the god. Do you think you are worthy of wielding Stormbreaker? Join your friends as Thor, and fight Thanos, while protecting Midgard from Chitauri.

Marvel Replica Legends Series has come out with Thor’s Axe Stormbreaker, and can now be found at Super Hero Headquarters in DIsney Springs. This axe stands at just over 4 feet long and weighs around 12-15 lbs. The Cast member working thought it weighed 25, but she had been holding it all day!

With light-up action and having both the blade of an axe and the head of a hammer in its construction, as well as sporting an elongated handle enabling the weapon to be wielded two-handed, it is a notably more potent melee weapon than Mjølnir, Thor’s Hammer.

Can I just say, we had a blast playing with Stormbreaker. The weight really helped make it feel realistic, and the sounds were not annoying. The only issue I could see is for those wanting to mount it. You would need a decent sized hook, almost like a bike rack hook. Either way, drop us a line if you get this. We would love to see what you do with it.

Cast Members celebrate the reopening of Columbia Harbour House, Pizzafari and Toledo Restaurants

Multiple dining locations have recently reopened at Walt Disney World. Cast members are celebrating returning to work at those establishments. Pizzafari in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Columbia Harbour House in Magic Kingdom, and Toledo – Tapas, Steak & Seafood at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort have all reopened.

Columbia Harbor House is located in Liberty Square in Magic Kingdom and is known for its delicious lobster rolls, shrimp, clam chowder, and chicken. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner service from 11 am to 8 pm. No reservations are required for Columbia Harbour House.

At Pizzafari in Disney’s Animal Kingdom guests can make their appetite extinct with pizzas, salads, desserts and more. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner service from 11 am to 3 pm. No reservation is needed for Pizzafari.

Toledo – Tapas, Steak, & Seafood at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is a Spanish haven inspired by surrealist art and the 1930s avant-garde. This restaurant is only open for dinner service from 5 pm to 10 pm. Reservations are highly recommended!

Walt Disney World Cast and Community shared on Facebook recently that the cast members are so excited to be back at those restaurants. The post reads:

“Cast Members all across Walt Disney World are celebrating the return of even more delicious dining establishments. From Spanish-inspired cuisine with a rooftop view at Toledo – Tapas, Steak & Seafood to scrumptious quick-service eats at Pizzafari and Columbia Harbour House — we are so excited to taste what’s on the menu and give the Cast Members a big “welcome back!””

Orange County FL remains in State of Emergency as COVID cases rise above 20%

Covid-19 cases continue to increase in Florida and today Orange County Mayor Jerry Demmings extended the county’s state of emergency order. The mayor declared a state of emergency a week ago and has now extended it another seven days. Right now, Orange County has a 20.83% positivity rate compared to the 4.7% at the end of May.

Mayor Demmings held a press conference today where he discussed the pandemic and vaccination rates. He stated that Orange County is still recording more than 1,000 new cases per day on average. The majority of those new cases are unvaccinated individuals. 63.43% of Orange County’s eligible population has been vaccinated.

Orange County’s goal is to get 70% of the eligible population vaccinated. Dr. Raul Pino said the demand for the vaccine has increased, especially among the younger generations. Even so, officials expect the cases, hospitalizations, and deaths to continue to increase over the next two weeks.

The county continues to urge all individuals, regardless of vaccine status, to wear masks while indoors. Walt Disney World recently changed its mask policy to require all guests to wear masks indoors again. Universal Orlando encourages its guests to wear masks indoors but has not made it a requirement.

Mad Hatter will soon be part of the Disney Fab 50 Character Collection

A very happy unbirthday to you! The Mad Hatter is joining the celebration for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary!

The Alice in Wonderland character will be joined by 50 characters as part of the “Disney Fab 50,” a new collection of golden sculptures debuting Oct. 1, 2021, across all four Walt Disney World theme parks as part of “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” honoring the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort.

Actress Ashley Eckstein made the exciting reveal of Disney’s Mad Hatter statue.

Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy, Pluto and Chip ‘n’ Dale will be part of a new collection of special golden character sculptures debuting Oct. 1st across the four Walt Disney World theme parks.

There will be 50 characters featured overall, and guests will be able to interact with the “Disney Fab 50” in surprising ways as part of the 50th-anniversary celebration.

During the magical celebration, which begins on Oct. 1st, you’ll be able to find these golden character sculptures throughout all four of the Resort’s parks. And leading up to their appearances, friends from around the Disney company will be announcing which characters you can expect to see.

You can also virtually “collect” each golden Disney character sculpture on Instagram. To add a sculpture to Instagram Collections, just tap and hold the bookmark icon. Then, on the “Save to” screen, tap the collection where you want to save the image or create a new collection. Happy hunting!
