Mad Dash to Restroom at Magic Kingdom Leads to Guest's Arrest Another's Hospitalization

Guest Arrested Following Reported Altercation at Space Mountain Exit in Magic Kingdom

A guest was arrested at Magic Kingdom on Saturday night, September 27, 2025, following a reported altercation near the exit of the Space Mountain attraction. According to an Orange County Sheriff’s Office arrest affidavit, deputies responded around 10 p.m. after a man claimed he was struck by another guest as crowds exited the ride.

Deputies identified the suspect as Faraz Syed, who was taken into custody for simple battery and later transported to the Orange County Jail without incident.

According to the affidavit, the victim and his fiancée were leaving Space Mountain when an unidentified man—later identified as Syed—attempted to move past them in the crowded walkway, reportedly stating that he needed to use the restroom. The victim told the man to “wait like everyone else,” prompting an argument. Moments later, the suspect allegedly charged at the victim, knocking him into a railing and wall.

The victim, whose identity is protected under Marsy’s Law, told deputies he had a prior back surgery and began experiencing pain after the impact. He was transported by The District Fire Department Paramedics to Orlando Health Horizon West Hospital for evaluation.

A witness, identified as the victim’s fiancée, stated that a woman accompanying the suspect was seen trying to pull him back, telling him to stop, before he “intentionally threw his body” into the victim.

When questioned, Syed initially told deputies there was “no physical or verbal contact” between him and the victim. He later changed his account, saying his left shoulder “may have brushed against” the man as he passed. Deputies noted inconsistencies in Syed’s statements.

Disney management reportedly told deputies that no security footage of the incident could be located. No photos were taken at the scene, but deputies’ body-worn cameras were active during the investigation.

Based on witness statements and the totality of circumstances, Syed was charged under Florida Statute §784.03 for simple battery—defined as “actually and intentionally touching or striking another person against the will of the other.” Syed entered a plea of not guilty and was released on a $2,000 cash bond.

“Catastrophic” Category 5 Hurricane Melissa Forces Disney Cruise Line to Reroute ‘Treasure’ and ‘Wish’

Hurricane Melissa has rapidly intensified into a “catastrophic” Category 5 storm, prompting Disney Cruise Line to make significant itinerary changes for the Disney Treasure and Disney Wish sailings to ensure guest safety.

The National Hurricane Center’s latest report shows Melissa with maximum sustained winds of 160 mph, exceeding the 157 mph threshold for a Category 5 hurricane.

According to the Weather Channel, the storm is beginning a “catastrophic, historic, multiday strike on Jamaica,” with life-threatening flash flooding, landslides, and destructive storm surges of 9 to 13 feet expected. Forecasters anticipate landfall in Jamaica around 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, with some areas potentially seeing up to 40 inches of rain.

In response to the storm’s path, Disney Cruise Line has altered its Eastern Caribbean and Bahamian sailings.

Disney Treasure Itinerary Rerouted

Guests currently sailing on the Disney Treasure, which departed Port Canaveral on Saturday, October 25, have been alerted to a major reroute. The ship’s original Eastern Caribbean itinerary, which included stops in Tortola and St. Thomas, has been completely changed. The ship will now sail to the Western Caribbean and The Bahamas.

The new itinerary is as follows:

Saturday, Oct. 25: Departed Port Canaveral, Florida
Sunday, Oct. 26: Day at Sea
Monday, Oct. 27: Day at Sea
Tuesday, Oct. 28: Cozumel, Mexico (previously Tortola, British Virgin Islands)
Wednesday, Oct. 29: Day at Sea (previously St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands)
Thursday, Oct. 30: Disney Castaway Cay (previously Day at Sea)
Friday, Oct. 31: Disney Castaway Cay
Saturday, Nov. 1: Return to Port Canaveral, Florida

Disney Wish Itinerary Altered

The upcoming sailing of the Disney Wish, scheduled to depart today, October 27, has also been preemptively altered. The ship’s original schedule was modified, swapping its “Day at Sea” and “Castaway Cay” days to keep the ship clear of the storm’s potential path.

The new itinerary is as follows:

Monday, Oct. 27: Port Canaveral, Florida
Tuesday, Oct. 28: Disney Castaway Cay (previously Day at Sea)
Wednesday, Oct. 29: Nassau, The Bahamas
Thursday, Oct. 30: Day at Sea (previously Disney Castaway Cay)
Friday, Oct. 31: Return to Port Canaveral, Florida

For guests on both sailings, any Port Adventures previously booked for the now-canceled stops (like Tortola and St. Thomas) will be automatically removed from their accounts and refunded. Guests can book new excursions for their updated ports of call through the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app or by visiting the Port Adventures Desk onboard.

This marks the third time this hurricane season that sailings have been impacted, following itinerary changes for the Disney Treasure due to Hurricane Erin in August and a Disney Wish sailing in September.

During a recent media stay, we were among the first to experience this new Club. We explored its key amenities, and now we’ll dive into the details of the lifestyle features that make it unique.

Disney Cruise Line has altered the itineraries for two of its ships, the Disney Treasure and Disney Wish, due to the path of Hurricane Melissa.

The storm is moving through the Caribbean and is reportedly at Category 4 strength. In response to the developing weather, Disney has rerouted one sailing and adjusted the schedule of another to ensure guest comfort and safety.

Disney Treasure Itinerary Change

Guests currently sailing on the Disney Treasure, which departed Port Canaveral on Saturday, October 25, have had their itinerary significantly changed. The ship was originally scheduled for an Eastern Caribbean sailing but will now head to the Western Caribbean and the Bahamas.

MuppetVision 3D Signs Removed as Monstropolis Expansion Progresses at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

The transformation of the former Muppets Courtyard into the new Monstropolis area continues to move full scream ahead. The latest visible change: the Wait Time and Lightning Lane signs have been removed from the entrance of the now-closed MuppetVision 3D theater.

Both MuppetVision 3D and PizzeRizzo closed permanently in June, following the closure of Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano in May. The closures make way for the upcoming Monsters, Inc.–themed land, which will blend reimagined existing buildings with new construction.

The former Muppets Courtyard and parts of Grand Avenue are being repurposed for the land, while a brand-new coaster show building is being added to the back of the area—expanding the park into what was once a backstage Cast Member parking lot.

New Trademark Filing Suggests 'Monstropolis' Will Be Name of Monsters, Inc Land

While Disney has not confirmed what will replace MuppetVision 3D, other elements of the land are taking shape. Mama Melrose’s will reopen as Harryhausen’s, the sushi-style restaurant featured in the original Monsters, Inc. film, and PizzeRizzo is expected to become a new quick-service location.

With signs coming down and steady progress behind construction walls, Monstropolis is well on its way to taking over this corner of Hollywood Studios. Soon, laughter—not Muppet mayhem—will power this part of the park.

Toy Story Land Adds Playful Construction Walls with Character Quotes at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is getting a little extra character lately—literally! As work continues on a brand-new snack kiosk near the entrance to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, colorful construction walls have gone up, featuring quotes from some of our favorite toys.

Each section of the wall is brightly painted in Toy Story’s signature color palette of red, yellow, blue, and green, with the panels adorned by character quotes that bring a bit of Pixar charm to the construction zone. Themed to look like part of Andy’s toy collection, the walls keep the playful atmosphere alive while Imagineers get to work on the new addition.

Each quote comes from a different member of the Toy Story gang:

Sid brings the creepy with with “I’ll have to perform one of my… operations!”
Jessie yodels a cheerful “Yodel-ay-hee-hoo!”
Sarge keeps things organized with “Recon plan Charlie. Execute! Let’s move! Move, move, move, move!”
And Woody offers the heartwarming reminder, “Being there for a child is the most noble thing a toy can do.”

The new snack kiosk is being built in the area between Toy Story Land and Galaxy’s Edge, where guests often transition from Andy’s backyard to Batuu. While Disney hasn’t yet announced what the kiosk will serve, the themed construction details suggest Imagineering is taking care to make sure it blends seamlessly into the playful aesthetic of the land.

Snoap Machines Spotted Along Hollywood Boulevard

During a recent visit, we spotted snoap machines installed atop several buildings along Hollywood Boulevard, a sure indicator that the park’s signature flurries of “snow” will once again drift over guests as they enter during the after-hours event. These discreetly mounted machines are positioned to blanket the area in falling snoap as part of the park’s glitzy holiday ambiance, evoking the feel of classic Hollywood winters.

Holiday Touches Near Beauty and the Beast Theater

Additional preparations can be seen near the Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage theater. Snoap machines have also been installed in this area, suggesting that this section of the park will feature enhanced holiday theming or serve as a guest-flow corridor during the event.

Nearby, bushes and landscaping around the theater are now wrapped in Christmas lights, adding to the festive flair. These early decorative details give a glimpse of the immersive, golden-age-inspired celebration to come.

Disney Jollywood Nights will run on select evenings from November 8 through December 22, 2025. The separately ticketed event features live music, themed entertainment, specialty treats, and appearances by rare characters in a retro-Hollywood holiday setting.

This year’s snoap installations confirm that festive snowfall will once again be part of the glimmering magic as guests stroll through the park’s Hollywood-inspired streets.

Touring the homes at Cotino Storyliving by Disney Community

Storyliving by Disney in California’s scenic Coachella Valley is the first “chapter” of the community’s story which will include more than 300 homes, approximately one-third of which will be specifically designated for homebuyers aged 55+, and the others will welcome residents of all ages.

The Cotino community will feature a range of home types and lot sizes where residents can live their lives to the fullest. Homes will line beautiful, varied streetscapes with styles reflecting the region’s desert heritage. Home designs will be inspired by the rich history, landscape and beauty of the greater Palm Springs area, under the creative framework developed by Walt Disney Imagineering and brought to life by select builders.

The Cotino community will offer three different single-family home collections allowing homebuyers to select a home best suited to their needs. The Cottage Collection will be built on home sites approximately 50 feet wide; the Grand Collection on home sites approximately 60 and 70 feet wide; and the Estate Collection on home sites approximately 90, 120 and 135 feet wide. All homes within the collections will be detached, single-family dwellings.

Homebuyers aged 55+ will be able to enjoy their best life in an area dedicated to them known as Longtable Park residences. The name Longtable Park is inspired by Walt Disney and the experiences that originally drew him to the Coachella Valley. When Walt visited the area, he often enjoyed desert activities in the morning and joined his neighbors for a group breakfast and good conversation around a friendly table.

During a recent hosted media event, we had the opportunity to tour 3 of the homes from different builders, let’s take a look at each home and what it offers.

The Atelier Home by Shea Homes

Features: private front courtyard, single story open-concept, 2 bedrooms, gourmet kitchen, flex space that can be made into an office or media room and covered outdoor living area.

Beyond the stylish homes and picturesque parks planned for the first phase, the Cotino community will feature a variety of unique experiences and activities that are expected to open in the future.

There will be multiple ways to enjoy the community’s stunning centerpiece, Cotino Bay. A voluntary Artisan Club membership will offer access to the waterfront clubhouse, exclusive beach areas and recreational water activities. Guests can also visit the professionally managed Cotino Bay Beach to access the water with the purchase of admission.

Along the picturesque shores of Cotino Bay, the community will feature a lively town center filled with sensational shopping and delectable dining opening in Fall 2026.
