Disney World Extended Evening Hours sticking around throughout all of 2023

Walt Disney World Extended Evening Hours will be sticking around through 2023. In celebration of Walt Disney’s World’s 50th anniversary, Disney launched Extended Evening Theme Park Hours as a benefit for guests staying at Disney Deluxe Resorts, Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts or other select hotels, to enjoy a few extra hours at select theme parks. Now, Disney has shared that the benefit will remain throughout all of next year.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

Currently, Extended Evening Theme Park Hours are available at Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios on select dates.
Disney is extending this benefit throughout all of 2023 for guests staying at Disney Deluxe Resorts, Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts, or other select hotels, for select nights at select theme parks.

More Time for Disney Magic

When you combine this benefit with the early theme park entry benefit available to all Disney Resort hotel Guests and Guests of other select hotels, you’ll have maximum time to experience The World’s Most Magical Celebration!

Disney reportedly wants Kathleen Kennedy to stop announcing Star Wars projects.

Industry insider Matthew Belloni of Puck reported that Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy “was advised by Disney to stop announcing projects and creative partners.”

The reasoning for the blockage comes down to “media management,” an effort to prevent fans and press from further tackling Lucasfilm following the cancellation of a slew of projects in recent years. The Rogue Squadron announcement video by Patty Jenkins and exciting press releases for Rian Johnson and D.B. Weiss & David Benioff’s respective trilogies are examples of Star Wars hype falling flat, an issue Disney is attempting to avoid.

Ever since The Rise of Skywalker premiered in theaters back in 2019, Kathleen Kennedy has announced two live-action Star Warsmovies — on May 4, 2020, the company released an official statement saying that Taika Waititi would be co-writing and directing a new film set in a galaxy far, far away. It’s been two and a half years and the movie is still not written. Later that year, it was also announced that Patty Jenkins would be directing Rogue Squadron. But that movie project is in limbo and possibly canceled.

Since the release of The Rise of Skywalker, Star Wars has lived solely on Disney+ and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

Video: Bob Chapek Wants to Customize Fan Experiences and Praises Disney Park Pass Reservation System

Disney CEO Bob Chapek wants to customize fan experiences. In a video, Chapek said Disney is focused on telling stories in “a more customized, more personalized way” and “bringing together the physicality plus the media element of Disney.”

Chapek shared that the Walt Disney Company is working on ways to unite its two main business lines—its parks, experiences and products division and its media, content and streaming division—using the Disney+ app. Customers will begin to see content based on what theme park rides a visitor prefers rather than past viewing or personal information.

Once Disney unites data collection capabilities between its various divisions, “we can give you a better experience in the park, because we know what your preferences are in terms of viewing and a better experience on Disney+ because we know what your affinities are,” Chapek said.

Chapek went on to praise the new Disney parks reservation system and said that changes, including higher prices, pricey add-ons to the Disney parks app and an online reservation system that limits crowd size at the parks, are necessary to guarantee a good guest experience. “We can have pricing be a reflection of how many people we can actually let in,” he said. “For some of our fans, that is heresy. But it’s not only good business practice in terms of maximizing shareholder value, but it protects the guest experience.”

“Certainly, we all want to make everybody happy all the time. I’m not sure that is possible in this world,” Chapek said. “What is important is how people think about our company. I take myself out of it and I think that is sort of the surprise….I wash all that away and say, what do we want the capital-D Disney company to stand for?”

Tim Burton says he is done with Disney

Tim Burton says he’s done making Disney movies.

The filmmaker attended the Lumiere Festival in France over the weekend, where he received the honorary Prix Lumière award.

According to Deadline, Burton explained that when he made his the live-action flick “Dumbo” in 2019,he realized that Disney had gotten too big for him and that the kinds of kooky, eerie movies he likes making no longer made sense at the entertainment giant.

“It’s gotten to be very homogenized, very consolidated. There’s less room for different types of things,” Burton said.

“My history is that I started out there. I was hired and fired like several times throughout my career there,” he said. “The thing about Dumbo is that’s why I think my days with Disney are done: I realized that I was Dumbo, that I was working in this horrible big circus, and I needed to escape.”

Tim Burton believes that Disney is now largely focused on its tentpole franchises mainly within the Star Wars and Marvel Cinematic Universe

“I can only deal with one universe, l can’t deal with a multi-universe,” he said.

After beginning his career with Disney as an animator, Burton has returned frequently, creating the films The Nightmare Before Christmas; James and the Giant Peach; Alice in Wonderland and its 2016 sequel, Alice Through the Looking Glass; Frankenweenie; and finally, Dumbo.

New Sign and Lamps installed for Roundup Rodeo BBQ in Toy Story Land at Hollywood Studios. Construction continues all over Walt Disney World, there is nothing new about that. What is new is Roundup Rodeo BBQ has the new entrance sign installed and ready for the world to see. Roundup Rodeo is expected to open this year, 2022, and crews are working diligently to get the construction done.

The new sign has Coleman stove-like lamps that hang on on each side, one side is hung up by bread twistie ties, and the other side is held up by a piece of wire, keeping with the theme of Toy Story land.

Get yer lasso’s ready, cowpokes, because I’ve got some rootin’ tootin’ news for ya! There’s a brand-new table-service restaurant coming to Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Upon entering Andy’s backyard, guests are magically transformed into the size of a toy, surrounded by toys and playsets scattered throughout the area. And soon, guests will discover that a new play area has been set up – and this time, it’s a rodeo! But of course, being Andy, it certainly isn’t your usual rodeo…

Using three cardboard boxes cut and taped together, Andy has created a new rodeo arena using some of his favorite toys, games, and play sets. And while some pieces are definitely western-themed, what makes this rodeo special is the broad assortment of toys that have been brought together to create a fun, colorful mashup atmosphere that only a child could create.

Once inside, you’ll be surrounded by all of the rodeo festivities in action as well as western town and train station play sets. And you just might spot some of your favorite Disney•Pixar characters scattered throughout the restaurant in the form of toys and game pieces including a toy version of Jessie riding on the back of a Trixie pull-toy and unique toy versions of Bo Peep and her sheep, all who appear to be performing in the rodeo together.

The cast of Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock joins the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade!

Today, Apple TV+ announced a unique partnership between Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The collaboration will feature the Fraggle known as Uncle “Travelling” Matt participating in a video series that’ll roll out over Apple TV+ and Macy’s social media in the week leading up to the event. The partnership culminates in live broadcasts on NBC featuring Uncle “Travelling” Matt on Thanksgiving Day.

During the video series, Uncle “Travelling” Matt, who Fraggles fans may know as the world’s greatest explorer, will be looking to answer age-old questions about Macy’s Thanksgiving Day celebration.
