Elizabeth Olsen Wins People’s Choice Award for Female Movie Star of 2022
The 2022 People’s Choice Awards was hosted by Saturday Night Live‘s Kenan Thompson. The ceremony was held at the Barker Hanger in Santa Monica, California and honored nominees in more than 40 fan-voted categories across movies, television, music, and pop culture.
Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness won The Movie of 2022 with star Elizabeth Olsen takinghome the awards for Female Movie Star and Action Movie Star.
Actress Elizabeth Olsen who is known as the fan-favorite red witch, Wanda Maximoff, from the MCU has always been about stealing the show whenever she appeared on the screen. Fans of the superhero universe are head over heels for both the actress and the character she plays. Her recent appearance in Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness was quite well-received by the fans.
Elizabeth Olsen was one who was awarded not once, but twice for her work in Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness. She won in the categories of Movie Actress and Action Star. For the former category, she beat out Gal Gadot and Jennifer Lopez amongst others. On the other hand, she emerged victorious over Chris Hemsworth, Dwayne Johnson, Tom Cruise, and others to win The Action Movie Star award.
Fans were undoubtedly super excited seeing Olsen get the recognition she deserves for her brilliant portrayal of Scarlet Witch.

Shanghai Disneyland Reopening Once Again on December 8th
We have some news: Shanghai Disneyland reopening once again! After closing for a third time due to Covid-19 this year, the park is reopening on December 8th.
“Shanghai Disneyland will resume operations on December 8, 2022, operating from 8:30 to 20:00 on the reopening day, marking Shanghai Disney Resort’s return to full operations. For ticket information, please refer to the Shanghai Disney Resort official website, app, Weixin/WeChat account, the resort’s Reservation Center, or contact the resort’s official travel trade partners. The resort’s pandemic control measures will be updated in accordance with the latest local government guidelines and guests should check and strictly follow them. Select attractions, live entertainment, restaurants and retail locations may not be available or may operate at reduced capacity. Please refer to our official app for the latest operational information. For guests whose travel plans were impacted during the closure period, you may contact the original purchase channel with your inquiries or to request a refund or exchange. The Cast and Imagineers of Shanghai Disney Resort thank you for your patience and understanding and look forward to welcoming you back soon.”
The park reopened on November 25 and then closed 4 days later. Now, it’s reopening again. We’ll see how long it stays open this time.
New poster and trailer for Season 2 of ‘Star Wars: The Bad Batch’
Today, Disney+ released the trailer and key art for season 2 of acclaimed Lucasfilm Animation series “Star Wars: The Bad Batch.”

Walt Disney World Railroad ‘Lilly Belle’ Testing in the Magic Kingdom. “Lilly Belle #2” Steam Locomotive built in 1925, and in recent years, restored, is testing around Disney’s Magic Kingdom. We first saw Lilly Belle testing back on February 1st, 2022. It was not seen again until recently. The locomotive is actually the youngest of the steam locomotives that run at Walt Disney World.
Disney actually owns 4 steam locomotives that run the Magic Kingdom loop. We have now seen Walter E. Disney, Locomotive #1, previously testing daily. This makes the second train run and test daily. The only trains we have not seen yet are the Roger E. Broggie #3, and the Roy O. Disney #4.
So little lesson in Walt Disney World Railroad on how you can tell them all apart. Besides having the numbers on the front of the locomotive, they also have the names on the side of the door. The other major differences are, the engines are either all red, all green, red with green, or green with red, and finally the color of the passenger cars they pull.

#1 Walter E. Disney pulls Red passenger cars, and Lilly Belle (which btw, is named after Walt Disney’s wife Lillian) pulls all green cars. Roger E. Broggie pulls yellow cars, and finally, Roy O. Disney pulls blue cars.
And that my friends is how you long-windedly tell folks that the train is testing daily.
Disney quietly moves Opening Date for Toy Story Roundup Rodeo BBQ to 2023. Recently as of D23 Expo 2022, Disney Officially listed the opening date of Roundup Rodeo, the newest sit-down restaurant coming to Hollywood Studio’s Toy Story Land, as late 2022. We can now officially say Disney has quietly moved the opening date to 2023.
From an earlier post this year Disney says “Also coming in 2022 to Andy’s backyard is the previously announced Roundup Rodeo BBQ restaurant! In this unique, fun, family-friendly dining experience, guests will enjoy delicious barbecue fare while surrounded by a kaleidoscope of toys, games, and playsets that Andy has brought together to create his one-of-a-kind rodeo.
Stepping into the lobby and waiting area, guests experience first-hand what it feels like to be one of Andy’s honorary toys, before progressing into two larger dining room spaces where Andy’s rodeo takes place. Here, the rodeo will be in full swing, with the western town and train station playsets mixing with surprising, playful details, like some fan-favorite Pixar characters as they’ve never been seen before!”

As always Disney opening dates can move unless a hard opening date has been announced. Toy Story Land Roundup Rodeo was announced just prior to the Pandemic. So this is nothing out of the ordinary.

Chris Hemsworth has received a total of 12 PCA nominations, dating back to 2012 as Favorite Movie Superhero for his debut as the live-action Marvel Comics character in 2011’s Thor. Hemsworth won his first People’s Choice Award in 2013, taking home the trophy for Favorite Action Movie Star for his role as Thor in 2012’s superhero ensemble The Avengers.

Bob Iger Speaks Out About Gun Control On Sandy Hook Anniversary
Former President Barack Obama, Disney CEO Bob Iger, and Matthew McConaughey joined together on Tuesday in New York City at the Sandy Hook Promise Benefit.
Sandy Hook Promise hosted the benefit to commemorate the 10-Year Remembrance of the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy and celebrate the life-saving impact of the “Know the Signs” violence prevention programs and policies. Funds raised will help empower millions of youth and adults to end school shootings and prevent violence.
Disney’s CEO Bob Iger spoke at the benefit which was started by parents of the victims at Sandy Hook. “As a grandfather, as a father, as CEO of The Walt Disney Company, I believe there is no greater or more important task than ensuring the safety and well-being of our children,” Iger said.
“Those of us who are in positions to affect change, whether it’s by influencing laws of shaping culture or supporting organizations on the frontlines, I think we have an extra responsibility.”
He also said preventing shootings before they happen “should be among our highest priorities.”
Disney Cruise Line Announces Early 2024 Itineraries
Disney Cruise Line has announced early 2024 itineraries! In early 2024, Disney Cruise Line is going to be on island time! A variety of fan-favorite tropical locales are in store for guests and their family, including itineraries to the Caribbean, Mexico, Bahamas and Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay.
With sailings from two home ports in the Sunshine State as well as voyages from Texas, Louisiana and California, guests can escape the winter blues with a magical vacation at sea from wherever they are in 2024.
Sun-Drenched Getaways from South Florida
The Disney Dream will begin early 2024 with an assortment of three- and four-night getaways to the Bahamas and five-night vacations to the western Caribbean, all of which will feature classic Disney Cruise Line experiences such as Broadway-style shows, innovative dining, character encounters and fireworks at sea.
All sailings from Florida will include a stop at Castaway Cay, a picturesque private island oasis reserved exclusively for Disney Cruise Line guests. Located in the turquoise waters of the Bahamas, Castaway Cay provides the ultimate escape with something for everyone in the family, including adventure, relaxation and quality time.
Tropical Vacations from Central Florida
The Disney Wish will kick off 2024 with three- and four-night voyages to Nassau, Bahamas, and Castaway Cay departing from Port Canaveral, Florida, Disney Cruise Line’s home port located just one hour from Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando. Upon returning for another month-long stint between March and April, the ship will sail cruises ranging from four to seven nights to the western Caribbean during the popular spring break period.
New Orleans will welcome the Disney Magic back for a second consecutive year in February 2024 with four-, five- and seven-night cruises to the Caribbean. The Big Easy is the perfect city to extend a vacation either before or after a cruise to enjoy jazz and jambalaya in the city that inspired Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “The Princess and the Frog.”
Mexican Escapes from California
After returning from its inaugural season in Australia and New Zealand, the Disney Wonder will arrive in San Diego, California in March 2024 for three- to seven-night voyages to Mexico, including the Baja peninsula. Known for its vibrant culture, stunning beaches and saltwater adventures, families can visit some of Mexico’s most prized destinations, including Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan and Ensenada, along with stops to the inviting shores of Catalina Island off the California coast.
