The American Adventure Reopens in EPCOT After Extended Refurbishment
The American Adventure has reopened in Epcot after being closed for an extended refurbishment. The attraction in World Showcase had been closed since mid-September.
The carpet inside the building seems to be new. It has either replaced or received a very deep cleaning.
The show itself has not changed and we can’t tell if any of the animatronics have been updated.
The American Adventure was originally supposed to open on December 17 but was delayed until December 23.
The Disney World website describes the show as:
“In this dramatic production featuring 35 Audio-Animatronics figures, digital rear-projection images on a 72-foot screen and stirring patriotic songs, you’ll watch firsthand as America’s story unfolds.
Take your seat in a stately Colonial theater and meet Benjamin Franklin and Mark Twain—your guides on this trip through time.
Witness landmark events like landing of the Mayflower, the Boston Tea Party, the winter at Valley Forge, the penning of the Declaration of Independence, the Civil War and the Great Depression.
You’ll even encounter luminaries like Susan B. Anthony, Frederick Douglass, Thomas Jefferson, Chief Joseph and Teddy Roosevelt, among others.”

Main Street USA Train Station Reopens After Refurbishment in Magic Kingdom. Finally. That is all I could think of when we finally got to ride the newly reopened Walt Disney World Railroad. Something we did not think of when we first heard the Train would be running again, was that Main Street Railroad Station would reopen at the same time.
When Tron Construction started, Main Street Station closed along with the running of the Train. Then came the Pandemic, and the whole park shut down. When the park reopened the Station was under refurbishment. Drapes covered the exterior, work was done on the inside, and the platform overlooking Main Street with the best view of Cinderella Castle was closed.
The characters would use the mobility scooter ramps to go up and down, they would spend time on the platform overlooking Main Street USA and wave and greet guests as they were coming or going under the station itself.
Now it is fully reopened for guests to enjoy the turn of the century (20th Century) Train Station feel. With its nickelodeon, and player instruments. The inside of the station looks as beautiful and brand new as ever.
You can get some amazing views down Main Street USA, when the Holidays are over and the tree is gone the platform will make for some great fireworks views.
We’ve known for some time that Disney’s Live-Action ‘The Little Mermaid’ will not just be a retelling of the original 1989 animated film, and now the film’s director has shared that Prince Eric will be getting an upgrade (and a better personality) in the upcoming movie. Director Rob Marshall recently spoke with EW about the new movie and shared how this story will feature a modern woman and her true love who will have his own story to tell.
“The role of Eric in the animated film — I’m sure the original creators would agree with this — it’s a wooden, classic prince character with not a lot going on,” the director says. “There’s a whole story that’s developed in our film. He has a mother, a queen, that’s new to the film. He has a very similar trajectory in a way to Ariel. He doesn’t feel like it’s where he fits in, his world.”
Marshall added, “These two kindred spirits find each other and really teach the world about prejudice and about breaking down barriers and walls between these two worlds.”
Disney’s The Little Mermaid (2023) is scheduled to premiere in theaters on May 26. Be sure to check back here at Chip and Company for updates and all things Disney!
An anonymous former Disney Cast Member and photographer has been getting a mixed reaction online after posting to Reddit about their disdain for vloggers within the Disney Parks, particularly for live vlogs or TikTok users. Initially, the post does clarify how these people are not doing anything legally wrong, but their concern is more in how much it can disrupt or ruin the magic for other guests. The full post from u/m242filmcast reads:
Do you notice vloggers and content creators when you are visiting the Disney Parks? Should Disney have stricter rules and regulations regarding filming within the parks? We are interested in hearing your thoughts in the comments. Be sure to check back here at Chip and Company for updates and all things Disney Parks!

The Walt Disney World Railroad Returns After 4 Years
The Walt Disney World Railroad returns to Magic Kingdom after being closed for 4 years! Disney recently shared a story about a cast member who has quite a connection with the railroad.
From a young age, the sound of a train whistle was a familiar staple in cast member John’s life. Both his grandfather and great-grandfather were engineers on the steam trains at the Pittsburgh steel mills. John never imagined he would carry on their, and Walt’s legacy, at the Magic Kingdom Park overseeing the Walt Disney World Railroad’s historic return today.
Starting at Magic Kingdom in 1995, John’s first role was as a Conductor on the Walt Disney World Railroad. “It was this moment of serendipity,” John explains. “My grandma was so tickled that I was working on the railroad just like my grandfathers. They love to tell the story that when I was born, my grandfather was on the train and blew his whistle nonstop when he found out he was having a grandson.”
A young 17-year-old at the time, John was incredulous that he was being trusted with such an iconic piece of the park. “You can’t get more Disney than the steam train,” he says. He felt a deep connection with Walt, but also his grandfathers who had both since passed away.
Now, 28 years later, John has spent almost the entirety of his Disney career on Main Street, U.S.A. His full-circle journey has brought him to this very moment where he now oversees the operation of the Walt Disney World Railroad! The enormity of bringing these historical 100-year-old trains back to the Magic Kingdom isn’t lost on him. It’s an opportunity to introduce guests to the same feelings of whimsy and childlike wonder that made him fall in love with the park all those years ago.
“The first time cast members brought the Walter Elias train into Main Street Station, guests and cast gathered below to cheer and welcome the trains home,” John muses. “You can see the excitement on kid’s faces as they see the train coming around the corner for the first time and hear its whistle. It’s magical, and an honor to introduce the next generation to the beauty of steam trains, carrying on my family and Walt’s legacy.”
Just in time to join the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration, you are all invited aboard this historical opening day attraction to escape into the fantastical nostalgia of yesteryear.
Folks, the renowned Walt Disney World Railroad has officially returned, and John and his team would love to welcome you aboard!
