Stan Lee honored on what would have been 100th birthday

Yesterday marked what would have been the 100th birthday of the legendary artist and comic book visionary Stan Lee. His friends and fans took to social media to mark the occasion.

Stan Lee was a prolific writer, editor, and publisher who co-created many of the most iconic and beloved characters in the Marvel Universe. Born Stanley Martin Lieber in New York City in 1922, Lee began his career in the comics industry as an assistant at Timely Comics, which would later become Marvel Comics. Over the course of his career, Lee worked on numerous titles and franchises, including The Amazing Spider-Man, The Incredible Hulk, and The X-Men, and was instrumental in developing the concept of the Marvel Universe as a cohesive, interconnected narrative. Lee passed away in 2018, but his legacy as a pioneer in the comics industry lives on.

Guardians director and now head of the DCEU, James Gunn, marked the date by posting photos of the pair together on his Instagram along with the message: “Happy 100th Birthday to Stan Lee. You are missed, my friend.”

Stan Lee’s Twitter account also posted about the 100th birthday milestone, and encouraged others to share their fond memories of Stan.

“Over the last century, his work changed the pop culture landscape & influenced millions,” the account tweeted. “We’re thankful that your support will keep Stan’s memory alive for years to come.”

Disney’s After Hours Events for Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios Are Selling Out Fast

The first three Disney After Hours events have sold out! Two at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and one at Magic Kingdom. All three event dates are in January.

The After Hours event is sold out at Magic Kingdom on January 9, 2023. All other dates are still available. Disney After Hours at Magic Kingdom begins at 10 pm and ends at 1 am.

The events at Disney’s Hollywood Studios are sold out for January 4 and 11, 2023. All of the other dates are still available to purchase. Disney After Hours at Hollywood Studios begins at 9:30 pm and ends at 12:30 am.

Guests attending the events can enter the parks as early as 7 pm.

Fantasmic Adds Second Nightly Performance Through January 14th

Fantasmic adds second nightly performance through the middle of January. The guest-favorite nighttime spectacular at Disney’s Hollywood Studios can now be enjoyed twice per night.

Now through January 14, 2023, guests have two opportunities to experience Fantasmic at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The show will be performed at 8 pm and 9:30 pm each night.

Starting on January 15, 2023, the showtimes will go back to once per night at 8 pm.

Featuring stunning effects, thrilling stunts, dazzling pyrotechnics and rousing music, this larger-than-life show is painted on a grand canvas of dancing water and light. Overflowing with silly and suspenseful surprises, it will leave your entire family smiling from ear-to-ear!

Fast asleep, Mickey Mouse dreams that he is a mighty sorcerer’s apprentice with the power to control water, color and magic. The Disney Villains—including Maleficent in the form of a towering, 40-foot-tall dragon—turn Mickey’s dream into a nightmare, but don’t underestimate the power of Mickey’s imagination!

Disneyland Resort Welcomes Rose Bowl-Bound Teams, Utah and Penn State

The Disneyland Resort welcomes Rose Bowl-bound teams Utah and Penn State to the resort!

The No. 8 University of Utah and the No.11 Pennsylvania State University have won the coveted berths in the 2023 Rose Bowl Game presented by Prudential in Pasadena, Calif., and their first stop along the way was a traditional visit to the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Calif., on Wednesday, Dec. 28.

The teams will play in the 109th Rose Bowl Game on Monday, Jan. 2, 2023. Utah won its second consecutive Pac-12 Championship and finished the regular season with a 10-3 record, while Penn State finished the season with a 10-2 record overall. Before meeting on the field, the teams met for their first official pre-game appearance, and only joint appearance of bowl week, at the Disneyland Resort.

Festivities included a spirited cavalcade down Main Street U.S.A., featuring the head coaches and select players from both Utah and Penn State. Also participating were the 2023 Rose Queen, Bella Adler, and the Royal Court, as well as the Pasadena City College Tournament of Roses Honor Band.

A press conference was held in the historic Opera House on Main Street, U.S.A. Featured in the press conference were Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham along with Utah players: quarterback Cameron Rising, wide receiver Devaughn Vele, safety R.J. Hubert and defensive tackle Devin Kaufusi. Also featured were Penn State head coach James Franklin along with Penn State players: tight end Benton Strange, long snapper Chris Stoll, linebacker Jonathan Sutherland and defensive end Nick Tarburton.

Pre-game festivities on Jan. 2 will begin at 1 p.m. PT (4 p.m. ET). The game will be televised nationally on ESPN.

This year’s Rose Bowl Game will be Utah’s second straight appearance in the Rose Bowl Game, while Penn State will make its fifth trip to Pasadena for The Granddaddy of Them All. This year’s Rose Bowl Game will be the first meeting of Utah and Penn State.

Rian Johnson says Dave Bautista Is the Greatest Wrestler-Turned-Actor Ever. Drax will go down as one of the best Marvel Studio characters ever when Guardians of the Galaxy comes to a finish. The man behind who portrays Drax, Dave Bautista, is being hailed as the greatest wrestler turned actor.

Dave Bautista aka Batista is a retired six-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Wrestling from 1999 until 2019. Where he was respected as a Heel or a face. in 2014 he joined the Marvel Universe as Drax in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. Appearing in 2 box office hits, a recently released Holiday special on Disney +, and his likeness will go down in Disney park history on Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind, Disney’s newest Roller Coaster ride.

Dave Bautista Is the Greatest Wrestler-Turned-Actor Ever

Rian Johnson, the director of Glass Onion, recently spoke to The Atlantic and spoke about Dave Bautista’s performance in this critically acclaimed movie.

“When I was writing [his character, a men’s-rights streamer named Duke Cody], I was picturing a scrawny dude who’s trying to overcompensate. When Bautista was brought up, I was instantly so smitten by the idea. I’ve been a very big fan of his dramatic chops as an actor.”

When asked if Bautista was the greatest wrestler turned actor Rian commented “I absolutely 100 percent agree. And I think somebody like [Paul Thomas Anderson] is going to give him a real part and is gonna look like a genius. As a person, Bautista is genuinely, immediately vulnerable when you meet him, and that’s what I was excited about. This is someone who has the physical trappings of someone who would play it big, but he actually brings sensitivity to the role.”

New Cinnamon Bun Frozen Coffee at Carousel Coffee. Carousel Coffee is officially open at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn. The newest coffee shop serving Joffrey’s Coffee and tea is a quaint addition to the Boardwalk. We got a chance to be at the resort for opening day and got the Seasonal Specialty Offering, and are very happy to report it is a good drink on a hot day. Too bad it was cold.

Cinnamon Bun Frozen Blend Coffee – Joffrey’s Coffee Cold Brew blended with cinnamon bun syrup, milk, and mocha topped with Whipped Cream. $5.99

Paired with Disney’s newest Cupcake, the Geppetto’s Workshop cake, it is delicious. Again, the only issue is ordering this when it is a bit cold outside. Brrr. When it is warmer out, which it is supposed to be the rest of the year, This blended frozen coffee will be perfect.

Geppetto and Pinocchio Chocolate Medallion Seasonal Cupcake at Disney World

Geppetto and Pinocchio Chocolate Medallion Seasonal Cupcake at Disney World. Today at Walt Disney World’s Boardwalk Inn, a brand new coffee shop opened. Carousel Coffee replaced a small gift shop that is right by the check-in desks. With the opening came new snacks and treats and cupcakes.

The newest Disney Cupcake released is the Geppetto’s Workshop Chocolate Cake, filled with Chocolate Mousse, and a marshmallow Topping, covered in “Frozen” Sprinkles. $6.29. The cupcake is topped with a chocolate medallion with an image of Geppetto working in his shop painting Pinocchio.

Not only is it cute but it is also flavorful and tasted great. Little messy, but this is Disney and snacks are supposed to be decadent and messy! We paired it with the new Joffrey’s Coffee and Tea Company Cinnamon Bun Frozen Cold Brew.

James Cameron’s Avatar The Way Of Water has OFFICIALLY crossed $1B at the global box office. “Sivako” meaning Rise to the Challange is exactly what Avatar 2 is doing right now. Critics claimed that the newest James Cameron film failed to meet expectations globally during the opening weekend, but are now praising The Way of Water for crossing the $1 Billion mark.

Fandango Tweeted “Avatar: The Way of Water has OFFICIALLY crossed $1B at the global box office & $300M domestically! Making it the 3rd highest-grossing film of 2022 so far.” keep in mind that the box office hit was just released three weeks ago, and has only seen 2 holiday weekends.

In the Na’vi language “Oel ngati kameie” or I see You, and it looks like more and more people are flocking to the theaters to see them.

Minnie ears are a must have accessory when you visit any Disney park, so of course new designs are released almost every month and this year was no exception! That’s why we picked our top 5 styles to share with you, let’s take a look:

VALENTINE’S DAY EARS
