Details revealed for Bob Iger’s Compensation Package to Return to Disney. Yesterday The Walt Disney Company disclosed just how much Bob Chapek received in payments for 2022. Included in the proxy statement, filed Tuesday, is the amount he would walk away with in a severance package totaling $20 Million Dollars. With a grand total between them both around $54 Million.
In the same proxy statement filed by The Walt Disney Company, Bob Iger’s Pay Package is worth up to $27 million per year. Iger had previously retired from Disney effective Dec. 31, 2021; he was eligible for a 2022 pro-rated bonus per his employment agreement for services during the fiscal year 2022, and the company awarded Iger a bonus of $4.37 million.
Looks to be The Walt Disney Company paid the CEOs around $60 Million Dollars total, and that may actually be higher, as we don’t know exactly what bob Iger made for the last months of 2022 when he was returned as CEO of The Walt Disney Company. We will find out on February 8th when Disney has a shareholders’ meeting.
Thunderbolts Star Confirms When Production Will Begin. Julia Louis-Dreyfus, known in the Marvel Universe as the mysterious Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, spoke with Variety recently about her role and when production will begin on her newest movie Thunderbolts.
In a recent interview, they also spoke to David Harbour, who explained the Thunderbolts like this “We’re like losers, which I like (laughs). We’re the losers,” Harbour explained. “I think it’s fun to watch us just mess everything up. It’s hilarious, there’s also a lot of pathos in that. There’s a lot of drama in a bunch of people who just keep getting their lives wrong and — because of character flaws — keep messing things up.”
He continued, “Nobody gives them the respect that they do to Captain America and Iron Man, very capable people. So there’s a lot to draw on there. I think there are a lot of movies there that will be fun.”
Julia Louis-Dreyfus said production will start this June, also had this to say
“In the original comic she has sort of a white streak in her hair, but I thought purple would make it a little more of this world today,” the actor said of the neon streak the Contessa rocks in her hair. “And I didn’t want o her to look too much like Cruella, or anything like that.”
“Thunderbolts” is currently slated to open on July 26, 2024.
For the first time, topiaries of Mirabel, Antonio, Isabela and Luisa from Disney’s “Encanto” will make a grand appearance at the festival. Located near the EPCOT main entrance, these new topiaries are sure to be a must-do photo moment to mark your visit. (But remember: We don’t talk about Bruno.)
And that’s not all. A new Princess Tiana topiary will grace The American Adventure. Plus, you can also see returning favorites such as Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs; Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, Captain Hook and Tick Tock Croc; Figment; Anna and Elsa; and more.

New Disney100 Celebration Details Revealed for Disneyland
The Disney100 Celebration begins next Friday, January 27, at the Disneyland Resort! Disney shared more details about the 100th Anniversary Celebration today.
Disney100 will celebrate Disney’s incredible storytellers and creators, along with the fans and families who’ve brought Disney into their hearts, as they together spark the magic and wonder of Disney. This celebration honors the journey Disney has been on and the memories we’ve created together, and it will bring new experiences with Disney’s beloved characters along with heartwarming new stories.
“World of Color – ONE”
This all-new nighttime spectacular at Disney California Adventure park celebrates the storytelling legacy started by Walt Disney, illustrating how a single action, like a drop of water, creates a ripple that can grow into a wave of change. This is the first Disneyland Resort nighttime spectacular to feature characters, music and moments from Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, the Avengers and Star Wars in the same production.
You’ll be able to access the viewing area for “World of Color – ONE” through the virtual queue system available only via the Disneyland app. Distribution for the complimentary virtual queue will begin at 12 p.m. PT, daily (subject to availability) and is available for guests who have entered Disney California Adventure park for the day or have entered Disneyland park with a Park Hopper ticket. Joining the virtual queue is not required, but it is highly recommended as walk-up viewing options for each performance are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
“Wondrous Journeys”
Each evening at Disneyland park, “Wondrous Journeys” transforms Main Street, U.S.A., Sleeping Beauty Castle, the façade of “it’s a small world” and the Rivers of America into an artist’s canvas with lighting effects, customized projections and more. This nighttime spectacular by Disney Live Entertainment will take you on an epic adventure through 100 years of Walt Disney Animation Studios storytelling. On select nights, “Wondrous Journeys” takes to the skies with sparkling fireworks.
During both “World of Color – ONE” and “Wondrous Journeys,” your MagicBand+ will come to life with dancing lights and vibrations synchronized to the shows.
Platinum-Infused Décor and Limited-Time Offerings
Both theme parks, the Downtown Disney District and the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort will be adorned in beautiful, platinum-infused décor. Above is an artist’s concept of the elegant embellishments on Buena Vista Street at Disney California Adventure park, which will sparkle with platinum banners and Disney100 medallions.
Around the resort, you’ll find platinum statues and medallions (pictured above) – which make great photo opportunities! Soon, Disney will share more details on how MagicBand+ will interact and add more dazzle to select Disney100 décor later this year.
At Disneyland park, Sleeping Beauty Castle will be accented by two new water fountains and dressed in platinum banners and bunting, a magnificent cabochon and a shining wishing star. On Main Street, U.S.A., you may find Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and their pals in platinum-inspired looks designed to reflect the optimism and creativity that are at the heart of everything Disney.
Feeling hungry amidst all these festivities? Savor a century of magic through specialty food and beverages like the platinum trifle and potato and cheddar cheeseburger. Plus, you can collect novelties such as the Disney100 Mickey Mouse sipper and platinum Mickey Mouse balloon bucket.
You can also bring the magic home with commemorative Disney100 merchandise and collectibles released throughout the year, such as the Disney100 Platinum Celebration Collection, special MagicBand+ designs, collectible medallions and pressed pennies.
The Disney Gallery Presents: Disney 100 Years of Wonder
Disney is excited to announce that The Disney Gallery on Main Street, U.S.A., at Disneyland park will house a new exhibit inspired by Walt Disney’s vision for Disneyland to be where his films come to life. Inside, you’ll see beautiful artwork created by original Disney animators for some of Walt’s early films, alongside artwork concepted by original Disney Imagineers to recreate those stories in the park.
The exhibit will also display an animator’s desk, a model of a multi-plane camera and more. It’s a magnificent tribute to Disney films that became Disneyland Resort attractions, park experiences that later inspired Disney films and the rich traditions they both share.
“Magic Happens” Parade – Returning Feb. 24
Even more fun is still to come! The “Magic Happens” parade makes its highly anticipated return to Disneyland park on Feb. 24. Led by Mickey Mouse and his pals, the daytime spectacular celebrates moments of magic from Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar Animation Studios films with grand floats, artistic costumes and an energetic musical score.
Mickey’s Toontown – Reopens March 8
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway will be joined by additional new experiences and returning favorites when the reimagined Mickey’s Toontown reopens on March 8, 2023! The beloved land will feature more play activities and attractions than ever before, as well as grassy play spaces for you to unwind.
