The Madrigal family will return to the iconic façade of “it’s a small world” for a limited time beginning in early February, as it’s enchanted several times each evening with a visual montage paying tribute to the film’s hit song, “We Don’t Talk About Bruno.”

Projection and lighting effects bring this story to life, as tiles flip, turn and rearrange themselves, transitioning one scene to the next and culminating in a celebratory chorus and a nod to Bruno’s mysterious prophecy about Mirabel.

The Disney100 celebration at Disneyland Resort begins Jan. 27, and “Encanto” will be featured in two all-new shows debuting for Disney’s 100th anniversary. In Disneyland park, “Wondrous Journeys” will feature nods to every film released by Walt Disney Animation Studios over the past century, with special moments from “Encanto” as Sleeping Beauty Castle is transformed into the magical Casa Madrigal.

A host of all-new entertainment is taking center stage, including “Disney Harmony in Color,” the first new daytime parade in five years at Tokyo Disneyland. Showcasing themes of adventure, courage, family bonds, and friendship from Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar Animation Studios films, the parade will open with Tinker Bell atop a rainbow-colored float adorned with beautiful petals. Not only will the magnificent floats be filled with familiar friends of Tokyo Disney Resort, but new ones are also joining too  — including Vanellope and Ralph from “Wreck-It Ralph,” Wasabi, Fred, Honey Lemon and Go Go from “Big Hero 6,” and more!

Over in Tomorrowland at Showbase, a special 40th-anniversary version of “Club Mouse Beat” will debut with Mickey Mouse and his friends showcasing their best moves set to varying musical styles such as hip-hop, Latin, and pop. To close out the show, in its grand finale, they’re sporting their 40th-themed outfits to the 40th-anniversary theme song.

At Tokyo DisneySea, Mickey and Friends, as well as Duffy and ShellieMay, are ready to welcome you in their festive 40th-anniversary outfits in the new Harbor Greeting, “Let’s Celebrate with Colors.” And to end the night, “Sky Full of Colors” will light up the sky at both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea to the 40th-anniversary theme song and fan-favorite Disney songs.

You’ll also have the chance to bring the fun home with all-new, exclusive merchandise! From dream-filled items sprinkled with Tinker Bell’s pixie dust to stylish pieces featuring the iconic Cinderella Castle and the opportunity to choose your very own “Dream Garland,” similar to those found around the resort during the celebration. Hollywood Tower Hotel Receives some Hilarious Reviews on Yelp

Hollywood Tower Hotel
lead-18

Hollywood Tower Hotel has guests dropping into Yelp to leave hilarious reviews.

Yelp is a popular online site where people can look for local recommended businesses and leave reviews and feedback on their experiences.

Hollywood Tower Hotel Yelp Reviews

Guests who have checked into the Hollywood Tower Hotel certainly have something to say about their visit.

325653908_2152417708282221_5509121719391795463_n

Some of the reviews read:

I dropped in for a stay after a long drive from Chicago. I was wary and I was just looking for a bed. As I entered the lobby, I immediately noticed cobwebs on the once-glamorous chandeliers and furniture. I shrugged it off, purely from exhaustion.

I stepped to the front desk, where a bored, ghostly-looking young lady stood. I asked her the price of the room and she looked at me with an odd smile. She expressed that prices were always falling at the Hollywood Tower Hotel and that was good enough for me.
Beware, no wifi or complimentary breakfast at this place, cell service isn’t great either, which is fine because rates are so low.

I’m now on my way up to my room as we speak. Unfortunately, the main elevators are out of order, so I was led to a service elevator by a strangely quiet elderly gentleman.
I will update this review when I am finished with my stay. I’m sure everything will be fine.
~Mallorie G. Aurora, IL

Another review reads:

Very dusty, avoid it if you have allergies or are scared of ghosts. Pretty sure the bellman stole my bags. Have good security systems though. Saw a lot of elevator repairmen around, seems fairly safe tho. Avoid the 13th floor. ~ Brittany L. Salt lake City Utah

3

There’s more:

First off, the check-in was awful. The wait was really long (like 120 min). Likely the front desk representatives causing the backup. They weren’t even apologetic for the wait and rushed us along to the elevator.

We then found that the main elevator was down for service, which isn’t surprising. By the look of disrepair and cobwebs, they are likely in between management. We were forced to use the service elevator, by way of the library(all the books were locked up). The introduction video was cultural and unique. I did like how it offered a history of the hotel.

We were led through the boiler room to the service elevator and didn’t even make it to our room after we were scared half to death by the lack of maintenance given to the elevator. We aren’t faint of heart, but that elevator wasn’t working properly, no matter what the manager says. I would not recommend this hotel. ~ Chris T. Rockledge Florida

These reviews are very helpful for anyone dying to stay at the Hollywood Tower Hotel. Personally, I think it might be a little dusty but it defiantly promises to be memorable!

Also known as the Tower of Terror

The Hollywood terror hotel is also known as “The Tower of Terror” to guests visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The ride attraction is based on the popular television series “The Twilight Zone” which was originally aired from 1959 to 1964 by Rod Serling.

The ride features a free-fall style 130-foot drop in a dilapidated-looking elevator. Multiple drops are random in relation to how far you are dropped, but you can always expect to experience at least one 130-foot drop for each ride experience!

The Backstory

6

It should be noted that the Yelp reviews are pure satire. The Hollywood Tower Hotel is an attraction and ride experience at Hollywood Studios designed to look like a 1920s to 1930s-era hotel.

The Hollywood Tower Hotel opened in 1928 and quickly became a “star in its own right, a beacon for the show business elite.” But on October 31, 1939, lightning struck the Hollywood Tower Hotel, and an elevator carrying five guests mysteriously vanished, along with a large portion of the hotel itself. No staff or guests could determine what happened to the guests inside the missing elevator, so everyone vacated the hotel immediately and the building sat abandoned for years.

4

Next time you visit Hollywood Studios be sure to drop in and check out the famous and historic hotel. You might want to avoid the elevators though! If you’re too faint of heart to enjoy the attraction you can head just past the entrance and check out the Tower Gift Shop. They have a lot of attraction-themed merchandise but also collectibles as well.
