Garden Rocks Concert Series Schedule at the 2023 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival
The 2023 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival Officially Starts on March 1st and will run through July 5th, 2023! One of our favorite events has to be the Garden Rocks Concert Series.
Garden Rocks feature internationally recognized artists performing Friday-Monday and showcases local Orlando talent on Tuesday-Thursday at the America Gardens Theater!
The series is jam-packed with talent from returning favorites like The Pointer Sisters, Simple Plan, and the Plain White T’s, and many more.

The Walt Disney Company announced today that it will continue to deliver joy to children’s hospitals across the globe in 2023 by expanding access to innovative programs specially designed for children’s hospitals such as mobile movie theaters, complimentary content access, additional character-themed hospital wear, special deliveries, and in-hospital installations for about 750 children’s hospitals and pediatric places of care around the globe. These efforts are part of Disney’s global commitment from 2018 of $100 million to help reimagine the patient experience in children’s hospitals in hopes of delivering joy and comfort to children and their families, as well as the company’s continued collaboration with Starlight Children’s Foundation to bring the positive power of Disney stories to children’s hospitals.
“Teams from across Disney, including our world-renowned Walt Disney Imagineers, worked with a global network of experts to identify unique experiences we could provide to ease the anxiety of a hospital stay for children around the world,” said Jennifer Cohen, executive vice president, corporate social responsibility for The Walt Disney Company. “Delivering joy builds on a legacy that started with Walt Disney himself, who brought animators and characters to visit hospitalized children.”
Mobile Movie Theaters & Complimentary Content Access
This year, Disney is expanding access to its uplifting and engaging content to help ease the fear and anxiety of a hospital stay by broadening its mobile movie theater program, and Disney+ and Disney Movie Moments initiatives globally.
Mobile Movie Theaters
Beginning January 2023, Disney will expand its mobile movie theater program to children’s hospitals around the world. Inspired by the cinema on Main Street, U.S.A. at Disneyland Resort in California, mobile movie theaters offer patients and their families places to gather and create memories while in the hospital, where they can enjoy the latest Disney storytelling through complimentary Disney+ access and first run movies through Disney Movie Moments, both provided to child life professionals.
Mobile movie theaters are proven to be versatile and straightforward to implement in hospitals, and, compared to stationary displays or full-scale theaters, they can move across the hospital to provide flexible entertainment and engagement opportunities, or can be stored away to maximize utility and hospitals’ limited space. Disney will deliver the mobile movie theaters to hospitals in Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan, and the United States, as well as throughout China and Europe, in the first half of 2023. They will complement the specially designed Disney interactive murals installed at select hospitals, to draw the patients into the enchanting world of Disney.
Building on a successful United States-based pilot program, in 2022 Disney began the global rollout of Disney+ into children’s hospitals in over 30 countries. Now, one year since this expansion kicked off, over 430 children’s hospitals in 17 countries have access to this service. This year, Disney is continuing work toward its 30-country goal, focusing on locations including Greece, Mexico, and Japan next.

Disney Movie Moments
In the United States, and launching in Australia this year, the Disney Movie Moments Program also brings special screenings of newly released Disney movies to the mobile movie theaters, offering opportunities for families to create happy memories, even in the hospital.
In collaboration with Starlight Children’s Foundation, Disney brings the positive power of Disney stories, characters, and immersive experiences to children’s hospitals.
Disney-themed Starlight Hospital Wear reimagines the traditional hospital gown with familiar characters and designs from Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, Frozen, Mickey & Friends, ESPN, and Disney Princesses, providing patients with their choice of fun, comfortable clothing to wear during their hospital stay. This year, Disney will introduce new designs featuring beloved characters, such as Mirabel from Encanto, and will expand the Hospital Wear program outside of the United States for the first time, bringing the program to hospitals in Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, and France beginning in March.
Moreover, Disney and Starlight Children’s Foundation deliver packages of toys, books, games, and movies that bring patients moments of delight and comfort in familiar, beloved stories and characters. Early this year, Disney will roll out a new delivery that celebrates Disney stories and memories, honoring those who have welcomed those stories into their lives throughout the last century. In addition, Disney will share 40,000 activity packs of games with children’s hospitals across Europe throughout 2023.

The new look fully embodies a “green” theme – not only is the shirt green, but the costume itself is environmentally friendly! The fabric is made up of recycled material, which even includes the Disney PhotoPass emblem stitched on the sleeve.
“Sustainability and environmental consciousness are major focuses of all design work for cast member costumes,” he said. “We’re always looking for new practices and technologies that go the extra mile towards reducing our environmental footprint.”
In addition to helping the environment, the costumes also help our photographers. The fabric is designed to control moisture and protect against the sun’s rays. It’s no secret the sun is bright here in Florida, so Disney took extra steps to make sure cast members are protected.
New Tiana Theming Added to Walls Around Splash Mountain
Walls went up immediately around Splash Mountain on its last day of operations last week. Disney wasted no time removing all traces of Splash Mountain from Park Maps, Entrance Music, and even on the Disney World App.
Today while visiting the Magic Kingdom there is new signage on the walls surrounding Splash Mountain that says Tiana’s Foods – Employee Owned, Coming Soon.
We are unsure what the cryptic messages mean but we know for certain it has something to do with Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
New Sidekicks of Disney pet collection has been spotted in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The collection features the sidekicks of all your favorite characters like Pluto, Meeko, Flit, Figaro, and more.
Disney pet beds have been a popular item and we have seen many in the last few months like the Haunted Mansion Doom Buggy, Grogu’s Carriage, Aristocat’s, and a Pluto-themed bed.
The new Sidekicks of Disney bed is not only perfect for pets though. It also makes a great throw pillow for the floor. It features Mickey’s pal Pluto, Meeko from Pocahontas, Flit from Pocahontas, and Berlioz from Aristocats. It has a handle at the top, making it easy to carry around.
The new Sidekicks of Disney pet bowl is clearly designed for your feline friend but if you have a dog like mine that thinks it’s a cat, then this might work for your pup too!
The cat dish features adorable kitten ears and Minnie’s sidekick Figaro, Cinderella’s cat Lucifer, Marie from Ariistocats, and I believe the grey kitten is Berlioz from Aristocats.
Portable Pet Bed
This portable pet bed would also be great for taking to the park or to use as a cushion for the kids when watching the fireworks. It features all the above sidekicks along with many others like Doug from Pixar’s Up, Percy from Pocahontas, and Jaq from Cinderella. So many adorable pets in one place!
Cat Toy
This cat toy features Flit the hummingbird from Pocahontas. It comes with two dangling toys because well you know, cats.

We found all this merchandise at Disney’s Hollywood Studios but it should be making its way around to all Disney parks shortly. It’s not currently available on Shop Disney yet but keep your eyes peeled.
There is also a line of Sidekicks of Disney HomeGoods and I am sure we can expect to see more added to this collection soon. This is one of my favorite collections for pets so far.

Closer Look at Tron Lightcycle Run Entrance from Storybook Circus Area
We have been wondering how we would be getting in and out of the new Tron Lightcycle Run in the Magic Kingdom.
Disney released a closer look at the new marquee Tron sign from Tomorrowland last week. However, today we were able to get back to Storybook Circus Area to see another way in and out of Tron Lightcycle Run.
Behind those bushes will be how guests can get in and out of Tron Lightcycle Run from Storybook Circus near Goofy’s Barnstormer. This was where we would get a closer look at the construction for many years.
While inside Tron Lightcycle Run you will also see signs pointing you to Storybook Circus, like the one seen above.
Just beyond the bushes that are blocking guests from seeing the entrance/exit for Tron Lightcycle Run in the Magic Kingdom. You can see what looks like a Cast Member area behind the wall.

Everything Announced During James Gunn DC Universe Reveal
James Gunn revealed his master plan for the DC Extended Universe in a video post on Twitter yesterday. The first stage of DC content under the direction of James Gunn and Peter Safran is filled with new films and content for the HBO MAX streaming service. The roadmap for the DCEU was revealed in a press event. Gunn and Safran had promised fans a plan for DC “by the end of January” and delivered a slate of exciting new content.
Like the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Gunn is organizing DC films and television into storytelling “Phases.” Much has been made of the decision to recast many of the prominent roles and go back to the drawing board regarding the future of DC films. DC’s first development phase is entitled “Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.” Much like Marvel, DC’s Phase 1 will feature overlapping stories and interconnected narratives that combine into a much larger story. Gunn revealed his plan would push out 8-10 years into the future, requiring actors to sign long-term contracts and multi-film deals.
Gunn also revealed that several projects already slated to be released would be moving forward as planned. That includes:

The Flash will be a hard reset for the DCEU, recasting most major roles moving forward. Gunn referenced both Henry Cavill and the embattled Ezra Miller specifically. Of Cavill, Gunn reiterated that Cavill wasn’t fired since he just “wasn’t hired.” This confirmation comes despite an appearance in a post-credit sequence by Cavill in Black Adam only months ago. Gunn added, “I like Henry; I think he’s a great guy. I think he’s getting d**ked around by a lot of people, including the former regime at this company. But this Superman is not Henry for a number of reasons.”
Gunn also spoke about the controversy surrounding Flash Actor Ezra Miller. Miller has had numerous legal troubles throughout 2022, with many calling for his removal from all feature films in the DCEU. Rumors have been swirling that despite his legal troubles, many executives at DC are still willing to work with Miller. Gunn refused to commit one way or another, stating, “Let’s see what happens. When the time is right, we’ll have the conversation.”
All negative energy aside, Gunn focused on the exciting slate of newly planned films and television coming to theaters and streaming. Creature Commandos is the first of many projects planned for HBO MAX. This animated series is being penned by Gunn and is currently in production. The show will feature Rick Flag Sr., Dr. Phosphorus, Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, G.I. Robot, and Suicide Squad’s Weasel.
HBO max is getting three additional series, including ‘Waller’ featuring the return of actress Viola Davis. Set in between seasons 1 and 2 of Peacemaker, the show will incorporate many of the characters from Peacemaker in a brand new show exclusively for HBO. Gunn also unveiled ‘Lanterns’ a “True-Detective Like” narrative that follows intergalactic cops. Finally, Gunn announced ‘Booster Gold’ centering around a loser with “imposter syndrome” from the future who uses technology to become a superhero in the past.
Gunn is writing Superman: Legacy, currently projected for July 2025. The film will balance Clark Kent’s Kryptonian heritage with his human life as he navigates his life on Earth. Superman: Legacy does not currently have a director, but we know the film is shooting for a PG-13 Rating and is still being penned by Gunn.
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow features a more “jaded” heroine when compared to Clark Kent’s Kryptonian. Based on a Tom King comic, Supergirl was forced to survive on a piece of the destroyed Krypton, having watched her people suffer and die. This adaptation of the character is much darker than previous versions of Supergirl. No date has been set for this film yet.
Batman will return in The Brave and the Bold. The film will focus on Damian Wayne, son of Bruce Wayne. Inspired by Grant Morrison’s comic run, Brave and the Bold promises to introduce a “new bat family.”
Gunn has promised Swamp Thing, A Game of Thrones-type story about Wonder Woman’s home Themyscira and a film called The Authority. The Authority will be a very different type of superhero film where the only way to fix the world is for its superheroes to take matters into their own hands.
Gunn reiterated that he had loved DC comics since his childhood, and his team remains entirely focused on storytelling. If his work on Suicide Squad and Peacemaker is any indication, we would say that the future of the DCEU is in great hands. Stay tuned for more updates on DCEU projects.
