Former Walt Disney Imagineer Asks Bob Iger to Preserve Grand Floridian Theming With Refurbishment Underway

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is getting a lobby renovation. We aren’t sure what exactly might change but we hope the Grand Floridian theming remains much the same. A former Disney Imagineer took to Twitter in December to share his thoughts as well.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and the lobby refurb is getting an update for that celebration. Disney has said that the lobby refurbishment will “maintain the classic theming you know and love with some fresh new enhancements.”

That hasn’t stopped former Imagineers from commenting on the upcoming changes. Former Disney Imagineer, Eddie Sotto, posted on Twitter that he thinks Disney resorts are becoming too generic. He also tagged Disney CEO Bob Iger in his post.

It appears quite a few people agree with him. There were multiple replies to his tweet from Disney fans saying how they feel many of the recent updates to the Disney World hotels have made them more generic and not as immersive. Some were even comparing the updated interior designs at Disney hotels to IKEA and Wayfair.

Happily Ever After & EPCOT Forever Showtimes Revealed

Two guest-favorite shows are returning to Disney World in April! Now, you can find Happily Ever After & Epcot Forever showtimes on the Disney World website.

Both shows return to their respective parks on April 3, 2023, and both will be performed at 9 pm.

Happily Ever After will feature all-new projections down Main Street, U.S.A., using the new projectors installed for the 50th anniversary. Disney Enchantment will still be shown in Magic Kingdom through April 2, 2023.

Epcot Forever will return temporarily as Disney works on a new nighttime spectacular that will debut later this year. Until Epcot Forever returns on April 3, Harmonious will continue to be performed at Epcot.

Earl of Sandwich in Downtown Disney is Now Open

Update 2/1/23 12pm: Earl of Sandwich is now open in Downtown Disney.

Earl of Sandwich, the quick-service dining destination that celebrates the art of the sandwich, has made its return to the Downtown Disney® District and the Disneyland® Resort in Anaheim, opening for business today at its new temporary location. The fan-favorite restaurant serves a menu of hand-crafted hot sandwiches, salads, breakfast dishes, baked goods and more. Guests can enjoy signature sandwiches like The Original 1762®, The Full Montagu® and Cannonballs!™. Plus, making its Earl of Sandwich debut is the new Spicy BBQ Brisket Sandwich, available for a limited time.

Earl of Sandwich will be open at 11am on Wednesday and Thursday and move to regular hours on Friday (open @ 8am).

The Earl of Sandwich Tavern, a full-service restaurant offering a seated breakfast, lunch and dinner, in addition to a full bar is slated to debut in a few weeks and we will keep you informed on when it is expected to open.

Earl of Sandwich is returning to the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort! Disneyland fans are so excited to see this restaurant return and it looks like it’ll be opening this week.

When Disney originally made the announcement, all they shared was that Earl of Sandwich would return in February. Now, it looks like the location will open tomorrow, February 1! When it reopens, it will have both a grab-and-go option and a new Earl of Sandwich Tavern table service location in the former La Brea Bakery building.

Disney has not officially announced an opening date for Earl of Sandwich. The rumor going around is that the restaurant will open at 11 am both tomorrow and Thursday and then on Friday it will begin opening at 8 am. Earl of Sandwich is taking over the previous La Brea Bakery. This is only a temporary location as Disney has announced that Porto’s Bakery will be coming to that spot later this year.

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence Returning for Bad Boys 4. Will Smith, Martin Lawrence, and Sony Pictures have announced that Bad Boys 4 Life is Official. “I wish I was you, not knowing what I’m about to show me,” Smith says in the video prior to him stopping the car.

In an Instagram posted earlier, Will Smith can be seen holding a handheld camera recording himself driving and going to where Martin Lawrence is to make the announcement. At one point Will Smith smacks himself with the camera, no word on if Chris Rock felt that.

Lawrence explains the third movie was already called “Bad Boys for Life,” and Will Smith suggests that really should not have been the name. You can watch the announcement below.

Disney Photopass Cast Members to Receive New Look

We have some fun news to share today! Disney World Photopass Cast Members will be receiving a new and updated look at Walt Disney World starting tomorrow February 1st, 2022! We love the Photopass Photographers and are very excited they will be receiving a new look!

The new look fully embodies a “green” theme – not only is the shirt green, but the costume itself is environmentally friendly! The fabric is made up of recycled material, which even includes the Disney PhotoPass emblem stitched on the sleeve. At Disney, we are constantly pushing boundaries to solve great challenges. Josh, Costume Designer for Disney Live Entertainment, takes this mindset to heart when developing new costumes.

“Sustainability and environmental consciousness are major focuses of all design work for cast member costumes,” he said. “We’re always looking for new practices and technologies that go the extra mile towards reducing our environmental footprint.”

In addition to helping the environment, the costumes also help our photographers. The fabric is designed to control moisture and protect against the sun’s rays. It’s no secret the sun is bright here in Florida, so Josh and the team took extra steps to make sure cast members are protected.

“My favorite part about designing costumes for our cast is ensuring they are comfortable and safe,” Josh said. “We help them to be at their best so they can make magic for our guests.”

New Fluffy Colorful Buttercup Crocs Spotted At Epcot!

You will be walking on a rainbow filled with unicorns with these Buttercup Crocs from Toy Story 3! We found them at the Creations Shop in Epcot for $64.99.

They are super colorful and fun! Outside they feature a mix of rainbow colors with a Buttercup charm on one shoe and a “Fluffy Festival” charm on the other plus pom poms in white and pink with a unicorn horn and pink bow.

You can own this Main Street Electrical Parade Artwork for only $20k. Art of Disney in Disney Springs sometimes will have a piece of Art that is hard to pass up, if only we could afford it. This new piece by Retired Disney Artist, Mark Seppala, is truly a collector’s dream.

The Main Street Electrical Parade Bass Drum table is simply beautiful. With all the favorite characters from the retired Disneyland parade covered in different gems. The blue Fairie stands out and is a centerpiece, along with Elliot the Dragon. The Main Street Electrical Parade’s main logo is surrounded by lights, and the glass covering will not only work as a table but also protect the artwork below.

A plaque on the side describes it like this “Vintage 1920’s Leedy Concert Drum” “Original art by Mark R. Seppala for Disneylands 50th Anniversary of the Electric Light Parade”

The only question we have now is, does Anyone have an extra 20k laying around we could borrow?
