Disney’s Polynesian Resort Tower Construction Update for April

Construction at Disney’s Polynesian Resort Tower has been progressing at a great pace.

Construction of the new Disney Vacation Club tower at Disney’s Polynesian Resort, which is slated to open in 2024, has been making some amazing progress.

The latest survey of the construction site shows great progress with one section of the new addition. When finished, the new DVC tower area will contain guest rooms, a pool area, and a splash pad.

The recent plans for the new tower indicate the tower itself will not contain a monorail stop. Based on the progress we have seen, it does not seem there will be any issue with hitting the late 2024 opening benchmark.

Disney World 50th Anniversary Medallion Removed from Cinderella Castle

Overnight Disney pulled down the 50th Anniversary Medallion from the front of Cinderella Castle in the Magic Kingdom. The bunting and spire ribbons still remain on the castle. Disney has confirmed that removal will take place over an extended period of time.

When we were in the parks on April 1st to see the Let the Magic Begin Welcome Show with Mickey & Friends sporting new outfits the 50th Anniversary Medallion was still there.

Disney World has been slowly removing all of the 50th Anniversary Decorations from around the Magic Kingdom.

They have also been removing all mention of Disney World 50th in all of the Theme Park Guide Maps.

Later this year, Walt Disney World Resort will join the global celebration of The Walt Disney Company’s 100^th Anniversary – 10 decades of creativity and innovation. Look for more details to come, as EPCOT prepares to host this unforgettable celebration at Walt Disney World.

Disney World Cast Members to Continue Wearing 50th Anniversary Name Tags

With Disney World’s 50th Anniversary officially over many of the elements such as the decorations, park maps and more are being removed.

One thing remaining is the Disney World Cast Member 50th Anniversary Name tags…

Cast Members are being instructed to continue to shimmer with their Earidescent Name Tags well beyond the Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration which ended on March 31st, 2023.

Details on what I would guess are the Disney100 Celebration Name Tags will be shared in the coming weeks.

Disneyland Resort Cast Members already have their Disney100 Name Tags so I expect they are on their way to Disney World right now.

Marvel Studios Secret Invasion Trailer Revealed!

Tonight, during ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball, the trailer for Marvel Studios’ espionage thriller “Secret Invasion” debuted and is now available. Key art and stills are also available for the live-action, original series premiering June 21, exclusively on Disney+.

In Marvel Studios’ new series “Secret Invasion,” set in the present-day MCU, Nick Fury learns of a clandestine invasion of Earth by a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls. Fury joins his allies, including Everett Ross, Maria Hill, and the Skrull Talos, who has made a life for himself on Earth. Together they race against time to thwart an imminent Skrull invasion and save humanity.

Marvel Studios’ “Secret Invasion” stars Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Cobie Smulders, Martin Freeman, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Charlayne Woodard, Killian Scott, Samuel Adewunmi, Dermot Mulroney, Christopher McDonald, Katie Finneran, with Emilia Clarke and Olivia Colman, and Don Cheadle.

Ali Selim directs the series and executive-produces, along with fellow executive producers Kevin Feige, Jonathan Schwartz, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Samuel L. Jackson, Ali Selim, Kyle Bradstreet and Brian Tucker. Kyle Bradstreet is also the head writer, and Jennifer L. Booth, Allana Williams and Brant Englestein serve as co-executive producers.

Lilo has been Cast in Disney Live-Action Lilo and Stitch Movie

Disney has found its live-action Lilo for the upcoming remake of Lilo and Stich. Newcomer Maia Kealoha is set to play Lilo Pelekai, joining Zach Galifianakis in the new film. Galifianakis was cast as the voice of Stich last month. The film has been in development since 2018.

Lilo and Stitch was Disney’s 42 animated film and has become a cult favorite among Disney fans. Stitch has become a colossal mascot for Disney parks and remains one of the more popular animated characters.

Maia Kealoha is a new face in Hollywood and certainly looks the part. Images of Kealoha quickly spread online as news of the casting broke.

Lilo and Stitch is a heartwarming animated movie produced by Disney in 2002. The movie is set in the beautiful island of Hawaii and follows the story of Lilo, a young girl struggling to cope with the recent loss of her parents. Lilo’s older sister, Nani, is tasked with taking care of her, but struggles to balance her own responsibilities with Lilo’s emotional needs.

Things take an unexpected turn when Lilo adopts a strange and mischievous alien, whom she names Stitch. Stitch was created as a weapon, but Lilo sees beyond his destructive behavior and befriends him, teaching him about the importance of love and family. Together, they embark on a series of adventures while trying to evade the evil forces that want to take Stitch away.

The movie is a beautiful story about the power of love, family, and friendship. It showcases the importance of accepting people for who they are, regardless of their differences. The animation is colorful and engaging, and the characters are well-developed and lovable.

The movie’s soundtrack is also notable, featuring a mix of classic and contemporary Hawaiian songs that add to the movie’s authentic feel. “Lilo and Stitch” is a heartwarming movie that teaches valuable lessons and leaves a lasting impression on its viewers.

Harmonious Barges Removed from Digital Disney World Park Maps

The Harmonious Barges have been removed from the EPCOT digital park maps both online and in the My Disney Experience App ahead of its departure tonight.

EPCOT Forever is expected to start on April 3rd, the delightful nighttime show will return for a limited time to light up the skies over World Showcase Lagoon.

Many fans are excited that the Water Tacos as they are referred to are leaving the World Showcase Lagoon. They are a bit of an eyesore when trying to look at all of the World Pavillions in EPCOT.

EPCOT Forever initially debuted in October 2019 with the end of IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth.

At the D23 Expo, Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro announced that Harmonious would be replaced by a new show celebrating The Walt Disney Company’s 100 years.

Menu Revealed for NEW 3-Course Selections at California Grill

The menu has been revealed for new 3-course selections at California Grill. California Grill is a specialty dining restaurant located at the top of Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

The new three-course selection dinner debuted at the restaurant this past weekend. It features one appetizer, one entrée, and one dessert.

The 3-course dinner is $89 per person (ages 10 and up), plus tax and gratuity, and $39 per child (ages 3 to 9), plus tax and gratuity. Reservations are available now for this new menu.

Celebrate HER Story with Empowering New Piece by Female Artist at Disney Springs

Disney Springs is celebrating HER Story with an empowering new piece of art at the Art Walk. This piece was created by female artist, Nneka Jones.

Jones is an innovative artist who hopes to inspire women with her artwork during Women’s History Month and beyond. Her piece, entitled “Create Your Spotlight”, represents the story of how she has grown throughout her career into a confident, strong woman.

Nneka Jones’ work joins that of other female artists like Nani Chacon, Leah Abucayan and Stacey Aoyama, which is also displayed at the Disney Springs Art Walk: A Canvas of Expression. While the pieces themselves are amazing, knowing the stories behind the art always seems to add more to the experience.

Showcasing talented artists from all around the globe, the Disney Springs Art Walk gives artists a platform to highlight their individual spirits and diverse roots, and to communicate with guests in a unique way through their art.

New Pre-Made Easter Baskets at Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Disney’s Contemporary Resort is offering pre-made Easter baskets for guests to purchase. This is a great option for guests who will be staying at the resort during the Easter holiday.

These pre-made Easter baskets are available until Easter Sunday at BVG, Fantasia, and the Fantasia Market. Pre-made trays are also available. The pre-made baskets are $11 plus the cost of the items inside the basket. The trays are $11 plus the cost of the items on the tray.

The pre-made baskets are themed to different Disney characters and celebrations. There was a Disney100 Easter basket, a princess basket, a Tiana basket, and an Alice in Wonderland basket just to name a few! They all are so cute and well-made.

Until April 9, guests also have the option to personalize their own basket. They can bring their own items to put into an Easter basket or purchase items from the store. The baskets and trays are the same price as the pre-made ones: $11 plus the cost of any purchased items.

There is also a complimentary Easter basket delivery guests of the Contemporary can sign up for. Disney’s Easter “bunnies” will deliver the baskets outside of guest rooms early Sunday, April 9th, between 6 am and 10 am.
