What to Expect from the Annual Passholder Preview

First, make a theme park reservation for Disney’s Hollywood Studios to have an opportunity to request to join the virtual queue at 7:00 AM for that day.

Next, on the day of the preview, it’s time to request to join the virtual queue using the My Disney Experience app. There will be 3 opportunities to join each day of previews at the following distribution times:

The 7:00 AM virtual queue distribution will be available to Passholders with a theme park reservation to Disney’s Hollywood Studios for that day.

The 11:00 AM virtual queue distribution will be available to Passholders with a park reservation to any theme park for that day. As a reminder, Passholders must enter the theme park where they have a reservation prior to visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The 3:00 PM virtual queue distribution will be available to any Passholder with a valid admission. A park reservation to a theme park is not required.

You do not need to have entered a theme park to join the virtual queue.

Please note that a virtual queue for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets will only be used during previews. A virtual queue is not planned for when the attraction officially opens on May 26.

Beyond the shift in ride mechanics, the refurbishment brought several visual and logistical enhancements to the back alleys of Toontown. Technical updates include vibrant new LED lighting within the fireworks crates, a fully restored and functional Dipmobile, and a much-needed refresh for the “portable hole” version of Roger. To improve guest flow, the exit queue was streamlined by removing tire props and railings to better accommodate ECV scooters. Additionally, the arrival experience has been simplified with a new dedicated stroller parking area conveniently located right in front of the attraction, moving it away from the nearby park and the Toontown entrance.

First Look at the Mandalorian and Grogu Mission Coming to Smugglers Run

Disney Parks joined today’s Star Wars celebrations by sharing a sneak peek of the mission briefing video for the highly anticipated Mandalorian & Grogu update. Coming soon to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, this new mission will be available to guests at both domestic Disney resorts.

The brief teaser, originally shared via the Disney Parks Instagram account, showcases the footage guests will view just before stepping into the Millennium Falcon’s cockpit. This new briefing is expected to take the place of Hondo Ohnaka’s classic instructions to secure coaxium (and a hefty profit) for Ohnaka Transport Solutions.

In the new briefing, Din Djarin contacts crews directly from the cockpit of the Razor Crest to outline their upcoming objectives. The transmission concludes with a signature appearance by Grogu, who pops up to wave at the new recruits. Here is the full transcription of the Mandalorian’s mission orders:

“Listen up, crew. Our bounties are two Imperial officers and a pirate. Our goal is to capture them and collect any crates they’re transporting. Thanks to Hondo’s intel, we know they’re on Tatooine. Grogu and I will meet you there.”

Originally announced at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in 2024, this new mission is scheduled to debut at both Disneyland Park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios on May 22. The launch coincides perfectly with the theatrical premiere of Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu. In addition to the mission briefing, fans have recently been treated to a look at the new attraction poster and a preview of the fresh musical score composed for the ride.

Fire Reported at Big Thunder Mountain During the Attraction’s Reopening

A fire occurred at Big Thunder Mountain on May 3 just as the attraction officially returned to service at Magic Kingdom. Fortunately, everyone remained safe and no injuries were reported.

At approximately 5:45 p.m., the day took an unexpected turn when flames were spotted in the loading area. Operations were halted as a cast member stepped in to extinguish the fire, ending the ride’s first eight hours of reopening.

Though the exact cause is still being verified, reports suggest the fire may have started on the track or one of the vehicles. It is also unknown if any visitors were in the immediate vicinity or on the ride during the incident.

Following a closure that lasted several hours, the attraction was eventually cleared to reopen to guests at 10:20 p.m.

The attraction recently returned from a massive year-long refurbishment that introduced an updated opening scene, featuring a stunning transformation of the Rainbow Caverns.

Beyond the aesthetic upgrades, the ride underwent a complete overhaul with a total track replacement and the introduction of brand-new trains. Fans will also notice refreshed Audio-Animatronics, new gold props, and the long-awaited restoration of several classic effects that had been inoperable for years.

Following these comprehensive improvements and a rigorous safety review, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad has officially lowered its height requirement. Adventurers only need to be 38″ tall to ride, down from the previous 40″ requirement.

New Mandalorian and Grogu Movie Billboard Spotted at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

An eye-catching new billboard for The Mandalorian and Grogu has been installed on the side of the replica Chinese Theatre in Disney’s Hollywood Studios to celebrate the film’s upcoming release.

The new display showcases a peaceful scene of Grogu meditating atop a mossy log. The film’s official logo anchors one side of the image, while the other confirms that The Mandalorian and Grogu was filmed specifically for IMAX.

The new display is positioned right alongside a billboard for another highly anticipated sequel, The Devil Wears Prada 2.

The Mandalorian and Grogu is set to arrive in theaters on May 22, 2026. The film features Pedro Pascal returning as Din Djarin, the titular Mandalorian, joined by his loyal companion Grogu. The star-studded cast also brings Sigourney Weaver into the galaxy as Ward, while Jonny Coyne takes on the role of an Imperial Warlord. Additionally, Steve Blum returns to voice Zeb Orrelios, the fan-favorite character from Star Wars Rebels who previously made a live-action appearance in the third season of The Mandalorian.
