The countdown to Christmas is on and there’s almost nothing more spectacular at that time of year than the Walt Disney World theme parks. This year, Animal Kingdom is getting revamped decor for the holidays, and each land within the park will get its own unique look and theme.
In Africa, all the decorations will be oversized and handmade. Guests should be prepared for masses of garlands and lanterns in Asia. The land will be decorated with colorful flowers in celebration of Diwali, the festival of lights in India.
DinoLand is usually party central at Animal Kingdom and Christmastime will be no different! Characters at the meet-and-greets will be decked out for the holidays, while the Truck-O-Saurus blasts Christmas tunes over the sound system. Visitors with, or without, children will undoubtedly want to take in this holiday bash!
For those Avatar fans, Pandora won’t be left out this year either! Instead, it will be decorated with kitschy ornamentation brought by the settlers from their earthly home. Those vintage displays will be combined with the natural resources available in Pandora to create a true one-of-a-kind Christmas feel.
The ”pièce de résistance” will certainly be Discovery Island. Animal sculptures and luminaries will be displayed throughout the center of the park in a festive winter style. Nighttime will see those come to life, becoming a fantastic environment in which to take in the video displays on the Tree of Life, set to holiday music. Guests will not want to miss nighttime at Animal Kingdom this Christmas season!
Make sure your holiday plans include Animal Kingdom this year! The Christmas displays are sure to make your season even brighter.
