Over 300 volunteers made up of Disneyland Resort Cast Members and Anaheim Family YMCA came together with KaBOOM! to build community playgrounds!
KaBOOM! is a national non-profit organization that is dedicated itself to provide fun and safe places for children to play. With the help of some cast members and the YMCA, the organization has built 12 playgrounds for the Anaheim community.
Back in 2016, Disney made the commitment of sponsoring 5 more parks in addition to the 7 already sponsored by the company. In eight years, Disney has turned this commitment into a reality. With the latest addition of the new Julianna Park playground, this will allow over 1,500 children a safe place to play in Anaheim.
Giving back to the community is something the Walt Disney Company has been doing for years. Now, with the building of these playgrounds, will leave a lasting impression on these neighborhoods. President of the Disneyland Resort, Josh D’Amaro expressed how grateful he was to have partnered with KaBOOM!, the YMCA, and the city of Anaheim. It just goes to show, that coming together with a little bit of magic anyone can make a big impact!
