Mary Poppins Attraction and Spaceship Earth Refurbishment put on hold

Mary Poppins Attraction

Walt Disney Imagineering invites Guests to witness the progress predicted by Walt Disney himself when he said, “Epcot will always be in a state of becoming.” And now, the biggest transformation in Disney park history is underway as Epcot welcomes the next generation of immersive storytelling with brand-new attractions and astonishing interactive experiences.

Today while visiting this attraction we noticed a few changes to the video they play in the Epcot Experience. Disney World has removed information about the Mary Poppins Cherry Tree Lane project and the Refurbishment to Spaceship Earth.

Disney has confirmed they are putting these projects on hold for the time being.

Here is the official statement:

“As with most businesses during this period, we are further evaluating long-term project plans. The decision was made to postpone the development of the “Mary Poppins”-inspired attraction and Spaceship Earth at this time.”

There is no word if any of the other projects at Epcot have been put on hold as well but I would imagine with the parks being closed for several months and with them only being able to operate at limited capacity we will see some of the other projects like the new Festival Center or the Moana Attraction put on hold as well.
