Last night stunning new Epcot Logo Pylons were installed by the main entrance fountain of Epcot. This first look at the stunning new structures was shared by Zach Riddley, an Imagineer from the project. The design team took inspiration from the original geometric designs of the park.
The beautiful lucite fixtures draw your eye up towards the sky and the majesty of Spaceship Earth. They also help frame the horizon of the entrance beautifully. The clear design also refracts the lighting of the entrance for a magical look. The beautiful photos were shared by him, as well as Disney Parks Blog.
Zach Riddley made a statement on Instagram about this exciting moment:
“I’m excited to share a first look at the pylons we installed last night as we continue to reimagine the EPCOT main entrance fountain, which has anchored this area since the park opened in 1982. Our design team took special interest in looking back to the original geometry for inspiration and infusing new features with a little bit of added magic to bridge the past, present and future of EPCOT . These majestic pylons also draw your eye upward toward the sky and perfectly frame views of the iconic Spaceship Earth attraction. I can’t wait to reveal the completed look for this fountain later this year!”
