First Look at The Magic of Disney Animation Entrance Revealed for Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is getting ready to welcome guests back into the world of Disney Animation, and Walt Disney Imagineering has shared a first look at the colorful new entrance for The Magic of Disney Animation. The atrium courtyard will serve as the transition between the Walt Disney Studios-inspired courtyard outside and the collection of animation experiences waiting inside when the attraction opens September 14.

The courtyard is designed to feel like more than just a walkway into the building. Guests will find a dedicated photo opportunity, benches for taking a break, and plenty of landscaping with trees, flowers, and foliage filling out the bright and playful setting. The design takes inspiration from the real Walt Disney Animation Studios in Burbank, California, including the Open House setting featured in the Disney short Once Upon a Studio.

There are plenty of familiar Disney faces worked into the space as well, including Robin, one of the Lost Boys from Peter Pan, who Imagineering says helps “add the magic” to the courtyard. The colorful entrance gives us another look at how Disney is blending classic animation nostalgia with a fresh space built around the characters and stories that have defined Walt Disney Animation Studios for generations.

Once inside, The Magic of Disney Animation will feature several experiences, including Olaf Draws!, Off the Page! character encounters, Drawn to Wonderland, the Once Upon A Studio Theater, and an enchanted art gallery. With opening day now just a few weeks away, we are getting closer to seeing how all of those pieces come together when The Magic of Disney Animation officially opens at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on September 14.
