Walt Disney World Resort has announced a heartwarming collaboration that bridges the worlds of culinary magic and beloved animation. The Chase family, descendants of the legendary New Orleans chef Leah Chase – a key inspiration for Disney’s Princess Tiana – will be the first guests to experience the upcoming attraction, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, this summer.

Chef Leah Chase, the revered owner of Dooky Chase’s Restaurant, played a pivotal role in shaping the character of Tiana. Her dedication to her community and her passion for Creole cuisine resonated deeply with Walt Disney Imagineering during the creation of Tiana’s backstory.
Sadly, Chef Leah Chase passed away in 2019, but her legacy continues to inspire. Her daughter, Stella Chase Reese, has been a key collaborator with Walt Disney Imagineering throughout the development of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
During a recent trip to Walt Disney Imagineering Campus, Stella and her daughter Myla Reese Poree were given a sneak peek of the progress on the attraction. Stella commented on how thrilled her mother would be to see her influence and values reflected in Tiana’s story.
The Chase family connection to Disney doesn’t end there. Stella also got to revisit her mother’s influence at Disneyland Park with stops at Tiana’s Palace restaurant and Eudora’s Chic Boutique featuring Tiana’s Gourmet Secrets.
As a culmination of their ongoing collaboration, the Chase family was recently surprised with an invitation to Walt Disney World Resort this summer! They will be among the very first guests to experience Tiana’s Bayou Adventure when it opens later this year.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will be a musical adventure that picks up after the events of “The Princess and the Frog.” Guests will join Tiana and Louis on a Mardi Gras themed adventure through the bayou, encountering familiar faces and making new friends along the way.
The attraction, which is slated to open this summer, will feature a combination of original music and familiar tunes from the movie, a vibrant queue mural, and brand-new characters to meet!
