Anzellan Droidsmiths Heading to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland
Black Spire Outpost is getting new inhabitants! Disneyland has officially begun preparing Droid Depot for the arrival of animatronic Anzellan Droidsmiths—the fan-favorite alien species made famous by Babu Frik.

Originally showcased by Walt Disney Imagineering as part of D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, these interactive audio-animatronics are finally making their way into the park.

Disneyland guests visiting Droid Depot will notice that a built-in shelving unit behind the main cash wrap has been cleared out and heavily themed to make room for the new crew:
- Three Custom Workstations: The shelving unit now features three themed stands where the Anzellans will sit while “working.”
- Interactive Elements: Surrounding the stands are wall panels, interactive shelves, artificial grease, grime, and fake wires hanging from a tube in the ceiling to create an authentic, messy workshop atmosphere.
While Disney Cast Members have not yet confirmed an exact debut date for the Anzellans, the completed prep work suggests these master mechanics will be up and running very soon.

First introduced in Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker with the beloved character Babu Frik, Anzellans are a diminutive, fan-favorite species renowned across the galaxy for their incredible skill as droidsmiths and cybernetic repair techs. They have since popped up across various Star Wars media, including The Mandalorian and Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures.
The addition of the Anzellans joins a wave of continuous enhancements across Batuu at Disneyland, bringing even more life and kinetic energy to Black Spire Outpost.
