If you are planning a trip to Walt Disney World in the coming years, you will want to take note of an upcoming project at a fan-favorite value resort! Rooms at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort are scheduled to undergo a lengthy refurbishment starting in mid-June 2027 and continuing all the way through October 2028.

The room renovations will be completed in phases, with each of the four highly themed sections (Finding Nemo, Cars, The Lion King, and The Little Mermaid) being updated one area at a time. This phased approach allows Disney to keep the rest of the resort open and fully operational for guests throughout the duration of the project.
During this time, guests staying at Art of Animation may see or hear maintenance work taking place during daytime hours. Additionally, there may be alternate paths of travel in place around the resort as crews complete the updates in each specific section.
Art of Animation originally opened in 2012 and has been a staple for families looking for larger-than-life Disney magic, thanks to its immersive theming, family suites, and oversized icons. We can’t wait to see what these refreshed rooms will look like once the project is complete!
