Epic Universe Cuts September Hours With Earlier Closings

Guests planning a September visit to Epic Universe will have a little less time to explore Universal Orlando’s newest theme park, with earlier closing times now appearing on the park calendar. After operating until 9 p.m. throughout much of the summer, Epic Universe is scheduled to close at 8 p.m. on nearly every day in September. The park will continue opening at 10 a.m., giving most guests a 10-hour window to race through Stardust Racers, battle Bowser, encounter dragons, and brave the shadows of Dark Universe.

There are two exceptions hiding among the otherwise uniform schedule. Epic Universe will remain open until 9 p.m. on September 23, while the park is scheduled to close unusually early at 6 p.m. on September 29. The September 29 calendar currently shows an earlier 9 a.m. opening, along with Early Park Admission beginning at 8 a.m., but guests will still lose several hours of nighttime park time compared with the summer schedule. Universal has not announced a reason for the shortened operating day.

The reduced hours may be especially noticeable at Epic Universe, where Celestial Park and the park’s four themed worlds take on an entirely different look after sunset. Guests hoping to experience the glowing fountains, illuminated portals, and other nighttime details will want to plan carefully, particularly earlier in September when sunset arrives closer to closing time. Park hours can change, so travelers should continue checking Universal Orlando’s official calendar before their visit.
