Draco Malfoy’s Total Screen Time in the Harry Potter Films is Shocking Fans. Throughout the Harry Potter series, Harry faces many foes, ranging from Dolores Umbridge to Tom Riddle/Voldemort, but only one adversary lives on to become an acquaintance with “The Chosen One”: Draco Malfoy.
Though Harry and Draco’s relationship is complex throughout the series the two do wind up putting their complicated past behind them, even having children that go on to become close friends. Fans of the movies were shocked when a fan on twitter shared that Tom Felton’s Draco Malfoy is featured for only 31 mins and 30 second throughout all 8 Harry Potter films.
Twitter user @alexsummersx shared the photo of the total screen time along with the caption, “the fact that Draco Malfoy was only in 31 minutes throughout the WHOLE of the Harry Potter franchise (19 hrs & 40 mins) jus doesn’t sit right with me”

Obviously, Draco is by no means a main character in the films and naturally would not come close to the same screen time as the iconic trio, Harry, Ron, and Hermione, it seems odd that such an iconic antagonist would see such little screen time. In Harry Potter: Order of the Pheonix alone Draco Malfoy is only featured for 1 min and 15 seconds!
Did you think Malfoy had more screen time? Maybe even less? Which characters from the films do you think should have received more or less screen time? We would love to hear your thoughts in the comments. Be sure to check back here at Chip and Co. for all things Harry Potter!
