'Fantastic Beasts 3' Rumored to Introduce Other 'Harry Potter' Characters

Fantastic Beasts 3‘ Rumored to Introduce Other ‘Harry Potter‘ Characters. The filmmakers behind the Fantastic Beast franchise have promised to give audiences a more global perspective on the magic featured in the Harry Potter franchise as well as new and exciting magical creatures, and with rumors that the next film will feature Rio de Janeiro, Brazil we can’t wait to see what encounters are in store.

Recently, Fantastic Beast star, Dan Fogler (Jacob Kowalski), spoke virtually with The Movie Dweeb while away in London to begin filming for the third Fantastic Beasts film. Though we have already been introduced to Professor Albus Dumbledore and Professor Minerva McGonagall, Fogler shared that there is a good chance we will be introduced to a couple of other characters featured in the Harry Potter film series. With rumors pointing to appearances by a young Tom Riddle (Voldemort) and a young Rubeus Hagrid.

It will be interesting to say the least to see how the characters could be features, since the film is rumored to take place in the 1930’s and Riddle and Hagrid are not set to begin classes at Hogwarts until the 1940’s, but in a world with Time-Turners, who knows? Fogler loves the idea of introducing Hagrid to the franchise, even at a young age.

“There could be that Hagrid crossover, which would be very interesting. Is that what people are saying? I didn’t know that. I always thought about that, because I love Hagrid. Who doesn’t love Hagrid?” Fogler added that it would be fun in Jacob becomes Hagrid’s adoptive father in the film, though we know that doesn’t happen as long as the filmmakers follow Hagrid’s story from the Harry Potter book series. Fogler shared his idea of how it would happen by stating, “[Hagrid’s mother Fridwulfa] is there and she comes to Newt and she’s like, ‘I have my baby boy, can you take care of him?’ And Newt is like, ‘Well, I’m a little busy.’ And there’s me, ‘Alright, I’ll take care of this giant kid,'” Fogler said with a laugh. “I thought that would be a fun connection there.”
