When researching all of the restaurants set to open in Disney Springs on May 20th this morning we stumbled across something very interesting on the Disney World website.
Just for fun, I started to move the date forward a week at a time. When I hit June 1st I noticed many restaurants started to show up as available.
Going down the list I saw almost all of the Disney Springs Restaurants accepting reservations starting on June 1st, almost all had plenty of availability.
While many of these places are accepting reservations there is no word on if they will actually open. We know that Disney Custodians are returning to work to prepare for the May 20th reopening.
I have talked to several Cast Members at these restaurants and as of right now they have not been notified that they will be returning to work.
Keep in mind if these restaurants are resuming operations they will have to bring back in furloughed staff, hire new people, and also train them on new COVID-19 procedures.
Last week Wine Bar George shared steps on reopening the restaurant. They included details on what Cast Members and Guests will have to do to ensure everyone’s safety.
As of right now, we are uncertain if this is a glitch on the Disney World website, like how they are moving Disney World Theme Park Hours ahead a week at a time or if this is part of the 2nd Phase of Disney Springs reopening as Bob Chapek mentioned in his interview yesterday with CNBC.
As soon as we receive the official word from Disney we will share it here on Chip and Co.
