Disney-Pixar’s ‘Lightyear’ Trailer Reportedly Debuting This November. Disney fans are excited for the Chris Evans-led animated Pixar movie ‘Lightyear’ which will feature the story of the “Real Life” Buzz Lightyear who inspired the iconic space defender of the same name in the Toy Story films.

Now it is being reported that the first official trailer for the movie will be coming to social media and theaters before the upcoming Disney animated film Encanto this November. Encanto is currently set to release exclusively in theaters on November 24, 2021. It is unknown if the trailer would be released on the same day via social media, or in the days leading to the release, but we are excited nonetheless!

Pixar head Pete Docter has penned the script for the film and shared, “At first glance you might think, ‘Well, this is a Toy Story film.’ Well, not so fast. See, back when we created the very first Toy Story, we designed Buzz Lightyear with the idea that he was a toy based on some really cool character from an epic, blockbuster film. Well, all these years later we decided it’s time to make that film.”

Chris Evans echoed the film’s writer, posting to Twitter, “I don’t even have the words….And just to be clear, this isn’t Buzz Lightyear the toy. This is the origin story of the human Buzz Lightyear that the toy is based on.” 

Disney-Pixar’s ‘Lightyear’ is currently set to launch into theaters on June 17, 2022. Chris Evans is the only cast member officially tied to the film at this time. Be sure to check back here at Chip and Company for updates and all things Disney-Pixar!
