Disney and TikTok Announce Historic Live Stream Event to Celebrate the Return of ‘The Lion King’ on Broadway. Tomorrow, September 14th Broadway theaters in New York City will be buzzing with the return to the stage! To celebrate this momentous occasion Disney on Broadway and TikTok have partnered together to offer a historic live-stream event that will feature the opening number “Circle of Life” from the hit Broadway Musical “The Lion King.”

The news was shared by The Lion King cast member Adrienne Walker (Nala) via the Disney on Broadway official TikTok account.
The performance will be live-streamed from the Minskoff Theatre in New York City beginning at 7pm EST only on the Disney on Broadway TikTok account on Tuesday, September 14th. This special offering will give fans around the world a chance to witness the magical re-opening of Broadway with the 1,700 live audience members and to see the first live performance since March 2020.
The partnership was partially inspired by the performers who found a way to keep audiences entertained via TikTok through the initial wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. By offering new and refreshing content, creators found a home on the platform and managed to keep working despite the theater closures. For those who love to follow, many of the performers are planning to maintain their own accounts as well as partner with the theater companies to bring fans behind the scenes in collaborative videos!
