Bats Day Returns to Disneyland for a Spooky Celebration in 2027

The organizers of the iconic Bats Day in the Fun Park weekend have officially shared the 2027 schedule for the Disneyland Resort. Goth culture enthusiasts and “spooky” lifestyle fans can now start planning for the highly anticipated annual takeover of the theme parks.

Disneyland Park will welcome the return of Bats Day next spring, with the 2027 event officially scheduled for May 1 and 2. What began in 1999 as a small gathering was originally held in August before finding its permanent home in May starting in 2009.

While it shares the calendar with other fan-led gatherings like Dapper Day, Bats Day distinguishes itself by focusing on the Dark Subculture. Rather than being a “costume day,” it serves as a massive community celebration for those who embrace Goth fashion and culture as a daily lifestyle.

The event originated from a collaboration between Hollywood’s Absynthe and Long Beach’s Release the Bats clubs. Today, it has evolved into a comprehensive two-day festival featuring:

• The Bats Day Dark Park Festival: Live performances from bands and sets by subculture DJs.
• The Bats Day Black Market: A sprawling marketplace featuring dozens of unique vendors.
• The Nightmare Before Bats Day: An intimate dinner meet-and-greet.
• The Bats Day Ghoulish Gala & Happy Haunts Swing Wake: Formal and costumed gala events for elegant celebrating.
• Gallery999: A curated art show paying tribute to the iconic Haunted Mansion.
• Bats Day in the Fun Park: The central gathering within the Disneyland gates.
