Ashley Eckstein and Rosario Dawson Share Online Exchange Over Ahsoka’s ‘The Mandalorian’ Appearance

Ashley Eckstein and Rosario Dawson Share Online Exchange Over Ahsoka’s ‘The Mandalorian‘ Appearance. For over a decade, Ashley Eckstein voiced Ahsoka Tano for Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels animated series and specials. In the latest episode of The Mandalorian Ahsoka Tano made her live-action debut with Rosario Dawson in the role.

Eckstein had shared before the season 2 premiere that IF Ahsoka was to make an appearance in The Mandalorian she knew nothing about it and expressed a level of disappointment in not getting to portray her as a live-action character. That being said, Dawson had to remain silent about her role until the episodes premiere on Disney+ due to secrecy and wasn’t allowed to confirm her casting as Ahsoka Tano until the premiere.

After the episode made its Disney+ debut Rosario commented on a post and thanked Ashley for her work as Ahsoka. Within the hour of posting the comment, Ashley responded and welcomed Dawson into to role and the Star Wars family.

Previously Eckstein had spoken with ComicBook sharing, “Ahsoka’s always been bigger than just me and I’ve always been very outspoken about the fact that I am one member of a team of people that brings Ahsoka to life. It started with George [Lucas] and Dave Filoni creating Ahsoka. Fortunately, I was able to help originate her character, I was allowed to bring my heart and soul and personality and wisdom to this character – along with Joel Aron always lighting Ahsoka beautifully, and the animators animating her beautifully, and Kevin Kiner giving her the most beautiful music. Ahsoka’s always been bigger than just me… She is literally a part of my heart and soul. I care about her so deeply that I would never want anything bad surrounding Ahsoka. I only want what’s good for so Ahsoka and more Ahsoka stories can only be good. In my opinion, Asoka brings people so much hope and so much light and I will always be a cheerleader for that.”
