Animal Actors Show Closing After 30 Years for New Universal Studios Florida Project

End of an Era at Universal Studios Florida as Animal Actors on Location Prepares to Close

It is officially the end of an era at Universal Studios Florida! After entertaining guests for over three and a half decades, the beloved opening-day attraction, Animal Actors on Location!, will permanently close its doors this fall.

Universal has confirmed that the final performances will take place on Monday, November 2, 2026.

Since debuting on June 7, 1990, alongside the park’s grand opening, the live animal stunt show has been a staple for families visiting the resort. Originally called Animal Actors Stage, the show underwent a few updates over the years, operating as Animal Planet Live starting in 2001 before settling on the current Animal Actors on Location! name in 2006. For 36 years, it has given fans a fun, behind-the-scenes look at how animal stars are trained for the big screen.

Universal shared that the closure is making way for a brand-new, yet-to-be-announced “future experience.”

In a statement regarding the closure, Universal highlighted the lasting memories the show has created for both guests and Team Members. Adam Kingsley, Vice President of Park Operations – North Campus, even shared a personal connection to the show, noting that he began his 30-year Universal Orlando career as an attendant at the attraction.

“Animal Actors holds a special place in the hearts of many Team Members and Guests,” Kingsley shared. “We are grateful for the legacy of this attraction and the Team Members who made it so special.”

While details on what will replace this classic amphitheater remain under wraps, we will be sure to keep you updated as soon as Universal shares more information.
