EPCOT’s Germany Train Garden Adds Snow White’s Cottage & Fun Easter Eggs
The beloved Romantic Road train display at EPCOT’s Germany pavilion received a major dose of pixie dust! Situated in the lush flowerbeds just outside the pavilion, the miniature village has long been a fan-favorite stop for World Showcase guests. Now, Walt Disney Imagineering—working alongside the Engineering Services Art Prep team—has officially refurbished the attraction, introducing refreshed town architecture, playful construction gags, and a full scene inspired by Disney’s 1937 animated classic, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Refreshed Town Square & Pavilion Nods
Guests strolling past the garden will immediately notice a crisp new look across the miniature municipality. The town square’s traditional half-timbered buildings have received vibrant repainting, restoring their charming alpine aesthetic.
In a clever meta-nod to the pavilion itself, Imagineers replaced one of the larger traditional houses with a newly designed clock tower and archways modeled directly after the real-world entrance to the Biergarten Restaurant.
The update also packs in subtle humor for die-hard park history fans. Eagle-eyed visitors looking closely at the miniature streets might spot a tribute to Disney’s Animal Kingdom: Dr. Grant Seeker—the eccentric paleontologist from the former DINOSAUR attraction—wearing his signature white lab coat and sprinting down a path while clutching a dinosaur egg.

A Tiny Construction Site in Progress
To frame the ongoing enhancements, Imagineers incorporated a miniature construction zone right along the train tracks. Complete with scaffolding, tiny diggers, and hard-working crew members in safety gear, the scene gives the playful impression that the miniature town is constantly under active expansion.
Snow White’s Cottage Comes to Life
The headline addition to the display is a fully realized scene from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, seamlessly integrated into the surrounding garden landscape.
The miniature cottage features its iconic yellow thatched roof, alongside a tiny clothsline with hanging laundry drying in the breeze. Right nearby, a mine shaft entrance has been added, complete with a cart overflowing with colorful, glittering gems to show the dwarves hard at work.
The story details don’t stop at the cottage doorstep:
- The Evil Queen in her old hag transformation can be seen creeping down the pathway toward the house.
- The Dramatic Climax is captured on a nearby rocky outcropping, recreating the precipice where the Queen meets her demise, accompanied by watching forest deer and vultures.
This new addition brings a rich layer of storytelling to the train garden, blending traditional German folklore with classic Disney animation just in time for guests exploring the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival.
