Six Ravens at Disney Springs Looks Enchanting, but the Food Did Not Cast a Spell on Us

Six Ravens has officially opened at Disney Springs, bringing a dark medieval look, clever lore, and a menu built around stuffed hand pies known as “Coffyns.” Created by the team behind Gideon’s Bakehouse, the new concept is packed with atmosphere, from the towering raven crest outside to the moody interior and storybook-style menu. Visually, it is one of the most distinctive new food spots at Disney Springs, and we were excited to see whether the flavors could match the impressive presentation.

Our visit took place during the soft-opening period, and there were clearly a few early operational wrinkles still being worked out. Before we even entered, the first thing our media team noticed was a very strong herbal aroma coming from the restaurant. Several guests waiting nearby commented on it as well, and unfortunately, it was more potent than pleasant. The kitchen also appeared to be having problems during our visit, which resulted in a much longer wait than expected. Soft openings are designed to uncover exactly these kinds of issues, so we would not be surprised to see the operation become smoother as the team settles in.

The Coffyns themselves are packed with flavor, though several of the combinations may appeal most to guests with a broad or adventurous palate. The Imperial Idol features mildly spicy chicken, potatoes, carrots, coconut curry, fried garlic, and Red Panda’s Dipping Sauce. The filling had plenty going on, but the combination felt unusual rather than harmonious to us, and the accompanying sauce was by far our least favorite item of the visit.

The Forager’s Find was the standout of the Coffyns we sampled, combining roasted sweet potatoes, black bean corn salsa, crushed pepitas, queso cotija, and a pumpkin seed topping. Its bread was especially good, and the Tropic of Mango Aioli added a bright, sweeter note that worked much better for our group. The menu is heavily seasoned overall, which could be a major plus for diners who find theme park food too bland, though some guests may find the flavors overpowering.

We also tried The Tart’s Tempest, a Gideon’s chocolate chip cookie tart filled with chocolate fudge and topped with raspberry jam. We appreciated that it was not excessively sweet, and both the cookie crust and raspberry jam were enjoyable. However, the fudge filling had an odd taste that kept the dessert from coming together for us, and we ultimately did not finish it.

First Look and Taste Test at the Six Ravens Soft Opening in Disney Springs ()

Six Ravens is a wonderfully themed concept with an imaginative menu and plenty of potential, but based on this first visit, the food did not quite live up to the setting. Since this was a soft opening, we hope the kitchen and recipes continue to evolve because the idea behind Six Ravens is genuinely creative.
