Disney Files New Permit for Alien Swirling Saucers Signage at Hollywood Studios

It looks like more updates are on the way for Alien Swirling Saucers at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Walt Disney Imagineering has filed a new permit that points to additional changes at the Toy Story Land attraction, this time focusing on new signage following recent adjustments to the ride’s loading process.

The permit has been awarded to Design Communications Ltd., a company that has worked on signage for several recent Walt Disney World projects, including the reimagined Animation Courtyard, the refreshed Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, and ongoing updates at Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

While the permit does not reveal exactly what signs will be installed, it likely ties into the ride’s recently introduced numbered boarding system. Guests visiting Alien Swirling Saucers may have noticed new numbered stars in the queue’s holding area along with clearly numbered ride vehicles. The updated process is designed to make boarding more organized, and new signage would help explain the system and direct guests to their assigned vehicle more efficiently.

This latest permit also appears to build on another project filed earlier this year for set installation work at the attraction, suggesting Disney continues to make operational improvements in Toy Story Land.
