Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster’s Iconic Guitar Gets a Groovy Muppets Makeover at Hollywood Studios
Things are getting colorful over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios as the transformation of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring The Muppets continues to crank up the volume. The attraction’s iconic 40-foot-tall Fender Stratocaster is in the middle of a far-out repaint, trading in its classic ruby-red look for a bold, psychedelic design that feels straight out of an Electric Mayhem jam session.

The changes are not just limited to the guitar. The attraction building itself has undergone a noticeable transformation, shifting from its original tan exterior to a much darker grey tone, giving the entire area a more modern and moody backstage concert vibe. Meanwhile, behind scrims, Imagineers are hard at work layering vibrant swirls of color onto the guitar, bringing it closer to the eye-popping concept art Disney previously revealed.

While the scrims make it a bit tricky to see every detail, glimpses of the new design show bursts of purples, blues, and other vivid hues starting to take shape. Once complete, the guitar is expected to closely match the concept art, glowing with personality and setting the stage for the Muppets’ chaotic takeover of this high-speed attraction.

With construction moving along and more details continuing to emerge, it is clear this reimagining is leaning fully into the Muppets’ signature style, loud, colorful, and just a little bit unhinged in the best way possible. Guests can expect this fan-favorite coaster to feel like a completely new experience when it officially debuts in 2026.
