VIDEO: Disney Fans Divided as Teacher Shares "Birthday Button Tip' on TikTok

Elementary School Teacher Leslie Aguilar shared a tip video from her family trip to Walt Disney World that has started to gain steam on TikTok, but with mixed reactions from fans. The video in question featured Aguilar sharing that she asked for about 30 “Happy Birthday” buttons from WDW Cast Members to give out to her students on their birthdays or half-birthdays for her students with summertime birthdays. She shared her tip in hopes of bringing a little Disney magic to students who may not get the chance to visit the Disney Parks and to help them celebrate during the upcoming school year.

On the extreme ends of the conversation, many fans felt it was a sweet gesture for Aguilar to think of her 2022-2023 students and find a way to give them a little magic on their birthdays and half-birthdays. While other fans, including a former Disney Cast Member (@sthooch on TikTok) expressed concern that Disney will take away this free perk from the parks just as they did with the dress code violations policy that went viral earlier this year.

For those who may not know, several viral TikTok’s shared a Disney Parks “hack” to get a free shirt from the parks which caused Disney to change their policy and remove the courtesy to compensate guests who may not have been aware of the dress code rules. Several commenters on Aguilar’s post believe Disney will likely do the same if too many teachers ask for the free buttons and shared that they would not be surprised if Disney began charging for the iconic commemorative badges if too much interest is given to them online. If you visit any Disney parks for summer break, don’t forget to get your next class a set of buttons to give on their birthday! I will do half birthdays for those with summer birthdays. They are free. Ask any cast member where you can get FREE birthday buttons and they will direct you. I got mine at a gift shop at Animal Kingdom. #elementaryteacher #disneyteacher #freeteacherstuff #birthdaygift #birthdaybutton
