Break Into The Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration Fiesta Pyramid Dessert at San Angel Inn

Ready for a fiesta? How about a Chocolate “Fiesta” Pyramid? EPCOT has your next sugar overload ready at the Mexico Pavilion. But be warned: you’ll want to bring as many friends as you can to eat this dessert. It’s a big one!

I’m not trying to push some kind of Disney eating challenge, but it will take your best effort to finish off this epic dessert. Our waitress happened to mention that only one of her tables managed to complete the task so far, and it was a party of eight! Needless to say, our party of three wasn’t up to the task. But we’re coming back with reinforcements!

The official description of this breathtaking creation is as follows: “A festively decorated Chocolate Pyramid filled with Mexican Chocolate Mousse and Toffee atop a traditional Tres Leches Cake, and accompanied by Ice Cream. Perfect for sharing.” It’s an interactive dessert as well. You have to use your spoon to crack the chocolate pyramid and get to the mousse inside. A fun presentation for a cool dessert!

The chocolate pyramid is milk chocolate with a colorful pink, yellow, and blue/purple exterior that shimmers even in the dim lighting. The mousse inside is my favorite part. It is the lightest element but packs a sweet chocolate flavor. The Tres Leches cake is topped with cookie crumbs and surrounded by cream sauce. The ice cream has a caramel drizzle and also helps add moisture to the cake. Honestly, the whole thing is sweet enough that I was satisfied after four bites. But those four bites were so heavenly that I ate more anyway!

The $34 price tag may ruin your appetite a little, but bring some friends to share both the dessert and bill with you. It won’t feel nearly as bad! And this pyramid is unique enough that you’ll be glad you had a chance to try it. You really don’t need another $6 cupcake at Walt Disney World. Head to San Angel Inn Restaurante in EPCOT for a dessert you won’t forget!
