A Disney World call center Cast Member was able to alert police and help save a woman from domestic violence.
The woman called Disney World on the evening of January 9th to purchase tickets. At least, that’s what it seemed like. Similar to other women calling to order a fake pizza in order to get help, this woman called Disney World.
The Cast Member that took her call heard her yell “get off me” and “get away from me.” The Cast Member could tell something was off and started asking the woman questions. She replied only with “yes” or “no” answers and wouldn’t go into details about what was happening.
“The Disney World employee at one point asked if she was actually calling to book a stay and she stated ‘no.’ She then asked (the woman) if she needed law enforcement to her home and she stated ‘yes,”‘ according to the criminal complaint.
The Cast Member was then able to get ahold of the police. Police were then dispatched to her residence where they arrested her boyfriend, Wayne Terry Shiflett. The woman and her boyfriend had been arguing about him getting a job. She told police he then choked her and said “you need to learn to keep your (expletive) mouth shut” and “I’ll (expletive) kill you” and accused her of being spoiled.
She told the police she was choked around three times and thought she was going to die. Her boyfriend also slapped her. He was arraigned on Jan. 10.
Thank goodness that Cast Member sensed something was wrong as was able to act accordingly to help that woman!
