The Crayola Experience in Orlando is a Fun Alternative to Theme Park Days

We were recently invited to check out the Crayola Experience in Orlando and check out their Colorful Christmas. This was my first time at the Crayola Experience and I was impressed how big it is and all there was to do. It’s just right down the road from Universal and a short drive from Disney.

Know Before You Go

The Crayola Experience was a clear bag zone. They have lockers for free to rent or you can put bags in your car. They did have clear bags to hand out for essentials you needed to carry like diapers or snacks.

Face coverings must be worn for ages 3 and up. They do a temperature scan prior to entry. Ages 3 and up require a ticket. If you buy your tickets online ahead of time you can save $3 per person. You can view tickets online here. They are $24.99 before any discount. Annual passes are also available. Make sure to check the calendar for hours of operation, they change and have certain days they are closed.

Things to Do

There was a lot for kids to do here. The Crayola Experience was larger than I imagined. It’s set up like stations with different activities you can check out on your own time. Some activities like the sand art and game center are extra charges.

My kids personally liked the Scribble Square. You are given a bag with chalk, crayons, and tokens so we headed to the chalk area first. This was an entire area they could write on with chalk.

This table full of different coloring pages was also a hit. They had several stations like this and even one we could make ornaments or Christmas crackers.

A couple of the areas are interactive. This wall where it looked like paint was dropping on us was so fun. They also had a dance area where you stepped on areas of the floor.

If you get hungry they do have a Snack Shack. It served movie theater-style food. They had hot dogs, popcorn, pretzels, and nachos. The prices weren’t too bad, we paid $3.99 for a hot dog and $3.49 for a bottled water since I accidentally packed my snacks and drinks in the locker.

Colorful Christmas

We were there during Colorful Christmas and they had some extra activities set up. This snowman talked and they also has a reindeer which talked right before you went into this workshop area.

Then they had Christmas themed coloring pages and a fun little sing-a-long.

Final Thoughts

This was a fun spot for locals to bring their kids for a day of learning or families visiting and they want a day away from theme parks. It was fun to let the kids roam and play and not have a schedule. It’s close to all the central Florida theme parks so it’s not out of the way. We really enjoyed ourselves and would love to visit again.
