Star Wars 'Boba Fett' Prequel Series may be Coming to Disney+

Star Wars ‘Boba Fett’ Prequel Series may be Coming to Disney+. Star Wars fans have been waiting for Boba Fett to make a reemergence in the popular series, The Mandalorian on Disney+, but it seems the iconic bounty hunter may very well be getting his own spin-off series. Unlike the other rumored Star Wars shows currently in the works at Lucasfilm, the Boba Fett series is reported to be a prequel to the stories featured in The Mandalorian, but will give fans an idea of what Boba Fett has been up to since his escape from the Sarlac pit.

Reportedly, the series is filming under the title “Buccaneer” by Lucasfilm, despite early beliefs that this was the code word for The Mandalorian season 3. According to Inverse‘s report, it’s likely the studio switched the production dates for the series and will begin filming Season 3 of The Mandalorian at a later date and is getting a head start on the Boba Fett series and striking while the iron is hot.

Currently, The Mandalorian series is said to already be approved for Season’s 3 and 4, with a big chance of more seasons to come, as well as several other rumored spin-off series. One such spin-off is said to be led by Cara Dune (Gina Carano) and Bo-Katan Kryze (Katie Sackhoff) and a high potential for another spin-off live-action series featuring Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) who is rumored to appear in the second half of Season 2 .

The Mandalorian season 2 will feature Din Djarin (Mando) and the Child continuing their journey, facing enemies and rallying allies as they make their way through a dangerous galaxy in the tumultuous era after the collapse of the Galactic Empire. “The Mandalorian” stars Pedro Pascal, with guest stars Gina Carano, Carl Weathers and Giancarlo Esposito. Directors for the new season include Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Bryce Dallas Howard, Rick Famuyiwa, Carl Weathers, Peyton Reed and Robert Rodriguez. Showrunner Jon Favreau serves as executive producer along with Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson, with Karen Gilchrist serving as co-executive producer.
