Will Boba Fett Make An Appearance in ‘The Mandalorian‘ Season 2? SPOILER ALERT: This post contains SPOILERS for Season 2 of The Mandalorian, if you have not seen the latest episode please stop reading NOW! You have been warned!
Now that we have the SPOILER warnings out of the way, let’s dig into Season 2 of The Mandalorian!
The new season is set to feature a wide variety of Star Wars characters, some new characters such as Timothy Olyphant’s Cobb Vanth, aka”The Marshall”, and some familiar faces from the films such as Temuera Morrison (Jango Fett), who made a brief appearance in the final moments of S2:E1 looking strikingly like Captain Rex from the animated Star Wars series, in my humble opinion. Though Morrison’s role, potentially multiple roles, have yet to be identified, it has left fans on that sweet, sweet cliff hanger for the next episode where we hope to receive at least SOME answers. (But, let’s be honest, we probably won’t get answers to that one until episode 3 or 4).
With the tidbits of information we do know about the new season, such as how The Marshall came into possession of Boba Fett’s partially digested and beaten up armor, we now have confirmation canonically that Boba Fett did in fact escape the Sarlacc pit on Tatooine and that jawas had somehow acquired the armor since his escape. That being said, this now means Boba Fett could be making an appearance in the series, but it’s likely that Temuera Morrison will first be featured as Captain Rex before we get to meet the notorious bounty hunter, Boba Fett.
Only 7 episodes remain in the new season and it has been well established by showrunner Jon Favreau that Season 3 is well underway. The Mandalorian star, Giancarlo Esposito (Moff Gideon) has also shared there are plans for a 4th season, but that has yet to be confirmed by Lucasfilm or Disney.
