'The Mandalorian' Star Giancarlo Esposito Says Season 3 and 4 are "In the Works" at Lucasfilm

‘The Mandalorian’ Star Giancarlo Esposito Says Season 3 and 4 are “In the Works” at Lucasfilm. Star Wars fans have been loving the Star Wars The Mandalorian series on Disney+ and are eagerly awaiting the premiere of season 2 on October 30th. Series star, Giancarlo Esposito (Moff Gideon) may have overshared during a conversation with People and let slip that a 3rd AND 4th season are currently “in the works” at Lucasfilm and Disney+.

Esposito shared the news during the People Emmy Awards Pre-Show, stating: “We’re living in a universe that is huge and there’s so much to explore. So I think this show is going to lay the ground work for the depth and breadth that’s gonna come in season 3 and season 4, where you’re really gonna start to get answers.”

It comes as no surprise that the series is set to continue past the next season, but it seems ambitious to have shared the news of two more seasons being in development before the premiere of season 2. Regardless, Esposito is right to say that there is “so much to explore” especially if the rumors are true about characters from Star Wars: Rebels and Star Wars: The Clone Wars making their first live-action appearance in the Star Wars series. Season 2 of The Mandalorian is set to premiere exclusively on Disney+ starting October 30th.
