Boston News Anchor Fired After Making a Cameo Appearance in Adam Sandler’s ‘Hubie Halloween.’ Adam Sandler’s Hubie Halloween recently premiered on Netflix and has been entertaining audiences just in time for the spooky holiday. Many fans are praising the nods to previous films made by Sandler and were touched that the film was dedicated to Sandler’s late Grown Ups co-star, Cameron Boyce, who played Sandler’s son in both films.
This week, it was learned that one of the actresses in the film, Alaina Pinto, who portrayed a news anchor in the film dressed as Harley Quinn from Suicide Squad and Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey. unbeknownst to the actress, who was a news anchor for 7News station in real life, she violated the contract for her job and has now been let go from the Boston based news station.
“Hi Friends! I have some news to share,” Pinto posted in a Twitter thread. “Earlier this week I was let go from 7 News. I am posting this because I want to be open and honest with all of you. Last year, I participated in a cameo in the recently released Netflix movie by Adam Sandler, ‘Hubie Halloween.’ In doing so, I mistakenly violated my contract with the station. I understand why management unfortunately chose to terminate me. I am deeply disappointed and saddened, and I hoped this would not be how things evolved. Thanks to all my wonderful 7 News viewers and my supportive and great colleagues at the station. Reporting the news to you every morning was an honor and a privilege.”
