Big changes have been in the works for Epcot lately. Park-goers have been promised that the next few years will bring the most drastic changes seen at the theme park since its opening in October of 1982.
Disney has already been delivering on some of those promises, both in 2019 and 2020. We’ve recently seen the installation of new theatre experiences and the removal of the monoliths. The latter project, though a bittersweet change, makes way for a new entry plaza, complete with a new fountain, pathways, and green spaces. The beautification has already begun to take shape with clear pylons in front of Spaceship Earth.

With this new aerial view, the pylons are clearly visible, as is the fountain. The change between this time last year and now is remarkable, and it’s safe to say that fans will be anxious to see the finished product for themselves. According to statements made by Walt Disney World spokespeople, the design will pay tribute to Epcot’s origins. Intriguing enough?
Other big changes coming to Epcot in the next few years include updates to Spaceship Earth and a new Mary Poppins attraction in the United Kingdom pavilion, however, both of these projects have been pushed back due to park closures. Thankfully, we won’t have to wait as long for the Ratatouille ride or Moana’s Journey of Water. There are lots of exciting things happening at Epcot!
