The future of Epcot is fueled by the power of imagination. The Disney Park is receiving an incredible transformation that will bring new entertainment and offerings for guests. Despite the setbacks of this year, the Walt Disney Imagineering Team is continuing work on new Epcot projects. For instance, the Orange County Comptroller office reveals that new construction permits were filed for Epcot. But what does this mean for the Orlando theme park?
Walt Disney Imagineering filed the permit on July 30, 2020, to “install east support facility graphics” at the entrance of Epcot. A contracting firm called Design Communications LTD will do the work. The company is known for creating and installing custom signs, experiential elements, and interactive technology.
There are several possibilities when it comes to the nature of this upcoming work. It could be that Disney is finishing up work in the new EPCOT entrance plaza north of Spaceship Earth.
The construction permits do indicate that the intended work site is near Spaceship Earth. Alternatively, it could also be that they are installing some type of images or graphic display near the new Guardians of the Galaxy coaster. Either way, we are excited to see what the future of Epcot holds for us!
