‘Kingdom Hearts’ Live-Action Series Rumored to be Coming to Disney+. Rumors are swirling online that a Kingdom Hearts live-action series is in development for Disney+. Fans seen divided online regarding the rumor, with many concerns surrounding the idea of the series being live-action.
Those in favor of the series believe there is more than enough content within the Kingdom Hearts games to put together a series following the main character Sora, Donald Duck, and Goofy as they navigate the “Disney-Verse” for King Mickey. Those opposed to the idea believe the series would fail as a live-action series by not living up to the game play they have loved for years and fear it may ruin the franchise or gaming experience for them as fans.
Not familiar with the game series? “Kingdom Hearts is a series of action role-playing game developed and published by Square Enix. It is a collaboration between Square Enix and Disney and is under the direction of Tetsuya Nomura, a longtime Square Enix employee. Kingdom Hearts is a crossover between Square Enix and Disney based in a fictional universe.”
Disney has not commented on the rumors at this time, so be sure to take the information with a grain of salt, but it would be interesting to see a “multiverse” style series featuring content from Disney films and shows.
What do you think of the rumors? Would you like to see a Kingdom Hearts series? Would you prefer a live-action adaption or animated? We would love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
