Disney+ Lowers Streaming Quality in Europe To Aid In Coronavirus Quarantines. Following the example of Netflix and Amazon, Disney+ has decided to lower streaming quality to a standard rating so subscribers in the newly launching Europe versions of the streaming service will have a better chance at streaming their favorite Disney related films and series with ease during the coronavirus quarantines.
The launch for the streaming service international was pushed up to help raise moral among fans in an uncertain time around the globe, and to help cater to subscribers needs the lower quality in service will help to provide uninterrupted streaming to more subscribers.
It was expected to hear from Disney+ soon, particularly after European Union Commissioner Thierry Breton addressed all streaming platforms in Europe to consider lowering the stream quality to give more viewers a chance to stream comfortable from their homes during quarantines and social distancing.
Both Amazon and Netflix were quick to adjust their streaming quality for their subscribers, and now Disney+ is following suit in the European market. To help keep viewers happy, Disney has released Frozen II months earlier than expected on the streaming service and will soon be adding Disney-Pixar’s Onward to the Disney+ roster on April 3rd.
