Lots of changes have been happening at Epcot lately. Guests have been told that major upgrades are coming to the park, and we have begun to see the signs of that promise throughout. On the inside, the “Leave a Legacy” monoliths have disappeared, Character Spot has moved, and entire walkways have been blocked off, just to mention a few.
On the outside, the tram loop has been under construction for several months now, with the promise that its completion will add room to the entrance of the park. The demolition and reconstruction has meant a portion of the parking lot has been sectioned off and guests have had to take the scenic route to get to bag check and the entrance. It has visitors hoping for a speedy end to the renovation and a quick return to the previously helpful tram system. So how’s it coming?
Large sections of pavement have already been laid down and it appears that the road for the tram is not far from done. The walkways into the park still have some work to do before completion, but they are wider than they were previously, which should definitely make entering Epcot less stressful!
Epcot is not the only park which is undergoing this type of major renovation at the parking lot/entrance; Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios have both seen similar changes recently. The bad news is that it makes all of them slightly less pleasant to get into, but the good news is that they’ll be easier and more accommodating than ever once they’re done. We can’t wait for that!
