Did you know that the very first Walt Disney World Marathon was held in January 1994? That makes the next one the 30th annual Marathon! And in honor of that, Disney has gone decidedly retro, delighting us children of the 90s with art featuring vibrant colors and patterns. It’s like we’re back in the good old 1990s again!

The 2023 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend holds several events. There is a 5K, 10K, Half Marathon (13.1 miles), Marathon (26.2 miles), Race and a Half Challenge (both the Half Marathon and the Marathon), and the Dopey Challenge (all four races). There are also several virtual runs for those who want to participate but would rather not travel to Orlando. If you like to run, this is the event for you!

As stated before, the 2023 Marathon will be a particularly special year as the event is “30 years running.” Retro is a good look for anyone, but especially for Mickey and the gang. Just imagine getting your participant shirt featuring a beloved Disney character, not to mention that finisher medal at the end! Whether you’re doing a 5K with Pluto or a Marathon with Mickey and Minnie, there’s a race for you to join and finish in style!
